Q: is it bpa free as well?

A: We do not add Formamide to Playspot, although it can be a byproduct of the EVA foam manufacturing process (which includes such items as flip flops and many bath toys). That said, due to these concerns, we have tested Playspot using ISO 16000 methods. We are pleased that our Playspots received the lowest possible score, <2ug/m3 (less than 2 millionths of a gram per cubic meter) for Formamide emissions, the lowest measurable result with this testing method. These tests show that - within the limits of the test - its presence is essentially undetectable. We regularly test children’s and child-care products for lead and phthalates, the principal culprits in PVC. Accordingly, these product hangtags are marked “Phthalate-free.”* We do not use polycarbonate, so BPA is not a concern for us. Therefore, this is a safe EVA floor mat option for children and you should feel confident that we have specifically tested for this issue.

Q: How durable is this mat be with dog/cat nails?

A: The mat lasted almost two years before my cat got spooked and ripped a piece off the mat. Then my son pulled more pieces off. :( It's so pretty, so we kept it anyways.
submitted byJenipher - 5 years agoA: Sharp objects can damage the mat, so damage from pets would depend on the size and activity of the pet. A cat scratching it or a dog digging at it can probably tear it, but walking or laying on it should be fine.

Q: I have cats who have been known to pee on play room rugs. How water resistant is this material? If I don't notice the accident for more than a day, would the urine soak in to the foam or would I be able to wipe it off fairly easily?

We received this as our daughter’s birthday present. We were so excited as we have tile flooring. We noticed it started peeling in the center. It’s spreading bigger and bigger. This was not an inexpensive gift. We tried to tape it to stop spreading but as you can see….. it’s getting worst.

I'm using one to mark off a play area for my toddler and one for a play area for my 10-month old. The mats are durable, soft and have such bright and fun designs.! Both kids enjoy looking for animals and fun characters on the mats. Very happy with my purchases and would highly recommend.

I seen this reservable mat on the Skip Hop site and loved the colors so we got it. This has been such a great purchase! It’s easy to vacuum and clean up any spills when they happen. my 3 year old always says it soft when she steps on it. Very happy with this mat.

It’s large enough that he can roll and move around without me being worried he’ll roll off onto the hardwood. It’s also large enough for myself and husband to get on the mat and play. We are in the heavy drooling phase and it is so easy to clean! The fact that it rolls up for storage is a plus!

I purchased this for my daughters room and it is the perfect fit! I love the vibrant colors on the one side and also that it is reversible. It is comfortable and a great amount of squish. My only gripe is that it came with some discoloration in a couple spots.

I have tried everything to get this mat to lay flat on the gray side up. I have put heavy books on it, re-rolled it the opposite way, taped it down, etc. The mat came rolled up and I unrolled it and it will only lay flat in the direction it was rolled, not on the reverse side. So, now it is a tripping hazard in the house, especially with a soon-to-be mobile baby. The edges are lifting and curling no matter what I try.

Perfect. Thick, heavy enough that it stays flat but light enough to roll up and put away when not in use. I have one twice the weight for my 5yo’s playroom and it’s a higher density but not nearly as soft. The colors on both sides are lovely and versatile. I can’t attest to the durability because I’ve only had it a couple weeks, but if it lasts through the rolling, sitting, learning to craw phases I believe it will be money well spent!
