[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toy is adorable, but design flaw can't be ignored. There is no lock mechanism in the center to keep this from closing on baby's tiny fingers. You have to supervise baby closely and hold it open for baby to be safe with this. It can lock close, but even that was pretty challenging. When it's closed baby can roll it. This toy is not lightweight either. My baby likes it, but I don't allow him to play with it unless I'm there to guide him with it. I honestly do not recommend this toy.

My toddler hated it, did not keep her interest at all. She even gets mad when I bring this toy out. It's also very very difficult to close into its ball form. I cut my finger trying to close the latch on it. The hinge also pinches very bad. Horrible design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love it! It doesn’t have any distracting lights and it makes noise with just light touches. The ball feature is also great for tummy time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently bought this for my 7 month old grandson. I love the watermelon idea with the seeds inside. Reviews were mixed but I still gave it a try. It doesn't really grab his attention and the middle piece that connects the two melon halves together is very difficult to get to stay connected as I read in previous reviews. I can also see where the gap between the two pieces would be a great trap for little fingers. When he is playing with this, I make sure to pay close attention to avoid any accidents. I probably would not purchase this item again.

Posted a bad review on this product before so it's interesting how it's not here anymore. Perhaps they are removing bad reviews.. Anyway this toy kept closing on my baby's finger. My poor girl cried so hard. I returned it after the 2nd time.I wouldn't recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fun for babies/infants/tots that love banging on everything, but not so finger friendly. I wish the outer trimming was a gel or silicone or had a “anti-slamming” mechanism just for the sake of little fingers.

I love the idea of this but as super disappointed because it broke during my daughter's first time playing with it. The middle piece that holds the two pieces together broke and now there is an exposed metal rod so now I'm too scared to let her have it

My daughter loved this toy but she ended up pinching her finger really badly and crying horribly. I don't feel comfortable giving her this toy anymore. I should've read the review the previous customer wrote. There definitely needs to be a lock to keep the drums in place. :

My baby absolutely loves this toy! We have fun rolling it back and forth when it’s clasped together or playing bongo drums when it’s open. The only reason why I’m giving it 4 starts is because the middle clasp that holds it together needs to be improved due to safety reasons. We were playing bongo drums today and she got a bit overexcited and slammed her hand in the middle. The poor thing pinched her finger and is a bit hesitant about the toy. I’ll try to have her give it another go, once the swelling goes down, but highly recommend skip hop create a way for parents to be able to lock the toy in place when their children want to play drums on it. Other than this one flaw it’s a wonderful toy and a lot of fun.
