Summary of reviews

Many guests have expressed deep disappointment with the recent changes to Skippy creamy peanut butter, noting a significant decline in quality. The product has become excessively runny and oily, making it difficult to spread and enjoy as before. Longtime fans are considering switching brands due to these changes, which they believe may be driven by cost-cutting measures. Guests hope for a return to the original consistency and flavor that made Skippy a favorite for decades.

The creamy PB is now oily, and tastes as such. I have tried to find where it is being made these days, to no avail. Smart Label usually discloses Country of Origin, but not for Hormel products. So, i am led to believe this is not made in the USA, and may have alot to due with the new unpleasant taste and texture over the last couple of years. No more Hormel anything until Country of Origin/manufacture is disclosed on every product. We don't care who distributes it, we care who and where it's made!!

Desert dweller, SKIPPY® is made in the USA, We do label for the country of origin, because it is processed and and all the ingredients come from the United States, country of origin would not be listed on the label per the labeling requirements.

(I received the product for an honest review) Something seems to have changed with peanut butter across the board. I've tried a lot of brands lately and they all seem a bit more watery and just don't taste as great as they used to. That said, Skippy is still a legendary peanut butter brand!

What have you guys done? The creamy no added sugar is just liquid. I suspect it contains more oil than peanuts. Initially thought it was just a bad batch, so I bought it again and just as bad as the previous jar. Wish I had checked before I purchased it again as I'm not the only one disappointed. After being a Skippy fan for 60 some years it's time to say so long. My money is too dear to waste it on inedible peanut butter. As bad as it is any brand has got to be an improvement

Skippy creamy peanut butter has been my favorite for many years, until recently. The consistency is oily now and almost runny when it used to be thick and creamy. This has happened with every jar I have purchased in the last few months...and we eat a lot of peanut butter! Unfortunately, I will have to try other brands until I find one that compares with the "old" Skippy.

I have been a Skippy fan my whole life. I AM 64 yrs old now and have walked away from Skippy. Skippy has been giving the standard boiler plate answers to all people with the same complaint about oily PB. This is not a fluke something has changed and they won't cop to it....it never used to be this way..only within the last few yrs...sorry but no more

15 ounce jar hard design causes problems

The natural 15 ounce jar design makes it difficult to get all the peanut butter out of it. It is also difficult to clean for recycling. Please take the upper and lower curves out of the design.

The information you have provided will be helpful in this evaluation. Many factors affect our packaging choices. If another type of package provides the same amount of protection for the product and does so at a reasonable cost, that packaging may be considered and tested for suitability. Much testing is necessary, however, and it may be some time before a decision concerning a packaging change would be made.

Long time Skippy eater and baker, but whatever change Hormel decided to make, it was not for the better. The fact they publicly say they have made not changes to their recipe, is not believable. I initially thought it was a bad batch, but it consistently is the same, jar after jar, for the last year. Thin, runny and oily, that's NOT the Skippy I knew. This Choosy Mother has decided it's time to find a new brand to enjoy.

I'm over 75 years old and Skippy has been my favorite peanut butter throughout the years. Lately though, the taste seems to have changed and the consistency has become oilier. The peanut butter is not as solid as it used to be. It's like they added more oil or byproducts, reducing the consistency of the peanut butter in order to save money. I first noticed this change about two jars ago. Thought it was a fluke but subsequent jars have yielded the same product. I'm guessing it was a cost cutting measure to compensate for inflation. I wish they had not changed it and hope they receive enough feedback to return to their old formula. I am now shopping around for a new brand.

Skippy was a nice creamy peanut butter a few years ago but recent formula changes in the past couple of years has resulted in an oily mess. They add oil to the product and lately way too much oil is added to the product. It slides off the bread so I don't give it to my kids anymore for lunch. Product is just not usable or desirable in its current form and they need to go back to the old formula to a thicker less oily mix.

Skippy has been the only brand of peanut butter I have ever bought - my mom always bought it too. I will no longer purchase this brand. The recipe has changed for the worse. It is now runny. I can basically pour it out onto a sandwich now. No one in my family will eat it and I have thrown out the jar and will never buy Skippy again. So disappointing.

Skippy creamy peanut butter has been the only brand our family would eat for the past 45+ years. I noticed a changed to the taste and texture of the peanut butter and thought the jar had gone bad, but the replacement jar also was runny and oily. The oil could not be incorporated with stirring It drips out of a sandwich. Very disappointed in Skippy. Please change back to the original recipe. Will try a different brand for now.

I opened a new jar of creamy Skippy, and it wasn't creamy at all. There was a layer of oil on top, and when I stirred it I ended up with peanut butter soup. I usually rotate between brands as I basically live on peanut butter. I feel bad bringing this back to the store without a receipt, and I have 4 other unopened jars. I'm finding a lot of reviews stating similar experiences. What's up Skippy?
