Q: What kind of gelatin is used in this vitamin?

submitted by Spol - 5 years ago
  • A: Hello! Our Core line of vitamins (those with Omegas sourced from wild-caught small fish) include a gelatin that is currently sourced from pork (please know that this might change soon!). We use this gelatin for the sole purpose of micro-encapsulating this fish oil in the gummy. For those seeking products without gelatin, we offer our Organics line of multivitamins - which are fully vegetarian - AND we offer offer our PhD Capsule formulas - which are fully Vegan! Please let us know of any other questions!

Q: Are you supposed to split these up and give them one at a time?

submitted by Kelsey - 6 months ago
  • A: Hi Kelsey -- Thanks for reaching out with your question. SmartyPants gummy vitamins can be taken with or without food  - in any way that works best for you! Some prefer to take them all at once - while others prefer to spread out the dose throughout the day. Please let us know of any other questions !

Q: What fish is the fish oil from? My child is allergic to some fish, but not others.

submitted by Concerned mom - 7 months ago
  • A: Thanks for reaching out to us with your question. Some of our products include fish oil as the source of omegas. Our fish oil is highly refined, a process that removes proteins that cause allergic reactions. Due to this removal process, highly refined oils are exempt from FDA's required allergen cautions. At this time, the fish included in our Core line includes: sardine, anchovy, mackerel and herring. For those seeking vegetarian options (without fish oil), we offer our Organics line of Multi-Vitamins (with Omegas sourced from organic flax seed oil); our Walmart Multi Line (which do not include Omegas) - and our new Sugar Free Multi & Omegas (with omegas from flaxseed oil). We always encourage checking with your doctor before starting any regimen to see if it’s right for you - particularly when there is a known allergy or dietary concern. Please let us know if we can provide any additional information.

Q: Are there any trace amounts of mercury in the fish oil?

submitted by BeautyGuru - 11 months ago
  • A: Hello! Thanks for asking important questions. Each batch of finished SmartyPants is 3rd party lab tested for the presence of heavy metals and environmental toxins, including mercury, lead, arsenic, and cadmium. Additionally - our fish oil is tested for PCBs before it is used - and exceeds FDA regulatory limits. We have also received a (high-scoring) score card from The Clean Label Project ™ -a nonprofit organization that focuses on health and transparency for consumer product labeling to help you make more informed choices on cleaner options, every time you shop. By using data and science, The Clean Label Project ™ reveals the true contents of America’s best-selling consumer products and publishes those results as product ratings. The certification process also factors in good stuff like ingredient quality. The Clean Label Project ™ works as an advocacy group for all consumers by using actual retail sampling and random unbiased testing to establish evidence-based benchmarks for the brands that you love most. Please let us know if we can provide more information for you! ~~SmartyPants Customer Care Team

Q: Why is the serving size 3, but you only offer 70 gummies? You'll finish the bottle with 1 vitamin left over. So silly!

submitted by morganb - 2 years ago
  • A: Hello! We understand your concerns - and we apologize for this. Our bottles are filled by weight and there is a standard sized bottle to accomodate the store shelving needs.
