Smashbox Photo Finish Control Mattifying Primer is a vegan and cruelty-free primer that delivers a matte look while controlling oil + defending skin. Infused with a Silkscreen Complex, Witch Hazel, Salicylic Acid, + Zinc. This mattifying primer creates a breathable, silky barrier that perfects the canvas by smoothing skin and strengthening it against damage from environmental aggressors like pollution and blue light. I have VERY oily skin, especially in my t-zone. I have tried soooo many primers (high end and drugstore). I am always super shiny within a couple hours after I do my makeup. I did some research once again and came across this product- it is pricey but tried the travel size to test it out. THIS WORKS!!! Just try it! Highly recommend!

My skin is a tad bit on the oily side, so I thought that this would help with my skin. However, once I used it with my matt finish foundation, my face looked too cakey and dry. I am in my early 30s and this aged me five years. I returned it for their hydration primer and prefer it.

I'm really enjoying this primer. I'm not a big fan of matte finishes but this isn't overly matter, I'd say it's more in between satin and matte. It's very soft and silky smooth and does a decent job of minimizing pores. A little bit goes a long way. Makeup applies well over it and doesn't pill or separate. Overall I'm happy with how it performs and I'd recommend this primer!

I have very oily skin and have tried all kinds of primers, both drugstore and high end and this has to be my new favorite! Today I had my make up on for 8+ hours and did not have to oil plot at all! Usually, I have to blot my face around the 4 hour mark, and then every couple hours after but this primer helped my makeup stay matte and looked so fresh all day!

Still have redness on my lower cheeks, now with a slight green cast. I tried applying it with my fingers, with a makeup sponge, and with a brush - all with the same results. I tried applying more, less, and with/without serum too. I will say the texture is nice, it glides on easily and doesn't feel like I'm wearing anything. It has a nice mattifying effect, so although it did nothing for redness, I'll at least be using the rest of this tube under foundation.

I have been using this primer for years since its release and no other primer has yet strayed me from it! Its finish is mattifying, lasts me about 8 hours before any oil peeks through my makeup. It is unscented. My only gripe is the packaging makes it hard to get what is left when the product is low. But I make a way haha!

I have very dry sensitive skin and do not have a lot of success with most makeup products, but this is a miracle product! Does not dry me out, cause breakouts, or pill on top of heavy moisturizers. It makes my pores basically invisible, makeup just glides on over it, and it keeps it on ALL DAY.

I'm 77 but still have oily skin. Smashbox Photo Finish Oil and Shine Control has been wonderful over the years, but I can no longer find it. I tried Photo Finish Control Mattifying primer with Salicylic Acid and was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. It doesn't control oil AT ALL, plus it causes my makeup to gather in my wrinkles.

I bought this product and used it for 60 days and let me just be very honest. if you want a flawless base that won't show any shine for hours where applied, if you want a poreless look and many compliments on your base I recommend getting this in the cart ASAP!

I really wanted to like this since it was highly reviewed and i thought finally something would work to control my pores and shine. Did absolutely nothing. It mattified going on but after about an hour AND setting with powder, I still was a greasy mess.

I am so happy I found this product. I feel like I've tried every primer under the sun, and nothing kept me matte or helped my foundation stay on. This one really does. I have oily skin and also wear glasses, so typically my foundation will rub off between my eyebrows and nose. This primer really helps to make my makeup last longer, I finally feel comfortable wearing makeup all day.

When I say this worked it’s because it really did. I tried to find me a good drugstore primer for oily skin but none were working. At the end I had to spend a lil more but it truly worked! I was giving up hope and accepting I’m just a big oily mess but this changed that. Spent a day at the LA county fair and at the end of the day my makeup was still on and I had little to no shine! (With no touchups throughout either) Bought the sample size but I will def be buying the full size when it’s done. Definitely worth the price in my opinion

In my opinion, this product is essential for those who have oily skin and facial sweat . I've been using this for about a week now and I've noticed that my makeup does not need "touch ups" throughout the day and my makeup stays in place. This is my new primer!
