While these are marketed as flannel, they are actually microfiber manufactured to simulate flannel. I purchase flannel because I need the natural fibers of cotton, and I specifically need to avoid synthetic fibers. But, in order to find that this is polyester microfiber, one must dig into the specifications or find the product label sewn into the inside of the pillowcase to find that it is not cotton flannel. If one doesn't care about synthetic fibers, it may feel similar, but I could immediately tell the difference and I was pretty unhappy as I feel like this is advertized inappropriately.
