Q: are these over the ear headphones?
A: NO. These are NOT over-ear. They are ON EAR. That means they rest against the ear, not wrap around the whole ear as an "over ear" headphone does. These do make a firm seal against the ears.

Q: Hi, my sony headphones connect to my iPhone but not my Macbook air. Do i need to download something on my mac in order to pair it via bluetooth?
A: Hi Indea, thanks for reaching out about Sony WHCH520/B Bluetooth Wireless Headphones with Microphone. You likely do not need to download anything on your MacBook Air to pair your Sony WH-CH520 headphones via Bluetooth. macOS has built-in Bluetooth capabilities that should be compatible with standard Bluetooth headphones. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to pair your headphones with your MacBook Air: Make sure your headphones are in pairing mode: Turn off your Sony WH-CH520 headphones. Press and hold the power button for about 5-7 seconds. You should see the indicator light on the headphones start to flash blue repeatedly (or a combination of blue and red, depending on the current state). This indicates that the headphones are in pairing mode. You might also hear a voice prompt saying "Pairing". Refer to your headphone's manual for the exact steps to enter pairing mode. Pair the headphones with your MacBook Air: Turn on Bluetooth on your MacBook Air: Click on the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen. Select System Settings (or System Preferences depending on your macOS version). Click on Bluetooth in the sidebar. Make sure the Bluetooth slider is turned on. Look for your headphones: Once Bluetooth is enabled, your MacBook Air will start searching for nearby Bluetooth devices. In the list of devices, you should see "WH-CH520" appear. Connect to your headphones: Click on the "Connect" button next to "WH-CH520". Confirmation: After a few seconds, the status next to your headphones should change to "Connected". You might also hear a confirmation sound from your headphones. Troubleshooting steps if it's still not working: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on both devices: Double-check that Bluetooth is turned on for both your MacBook Air and your headphones. Headphones not in pairing mode: Ensure you've correctly put your Sony headphones into pairing mode (as described above). This is the most common reason for pairing issues. Headphones already connected to another device: Your headphones might be automatically connecting to your iPhone. Turn off Bluetooth on your iPhone temporarily to force the headphones to be available for pairing with your MacBook. Bring devices closer: Make sure your headphones and MacBook Air are within close proximity (ideally within a few feet) during the pairing process. Remove existing Bluetooth connections on your Mac: Go to System Settings > Bluetooth. Find your headphones in the list (if they've been paired before). Click the "i" icon next to the headphone name and select "Forget This Device...". Then, try pairing again from the beginning. Restart your MacBook Air: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve temporary Bluetooth glitches. Reset your Sony WH-CH520 headphones: Refer to your headphone's manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset. This can sometimes resolve persistent pairing issues. Check for macOS updates: While unlikely the cause, ensure your MacBook Air is running the latest version of macOS by going to Apple menu > System Settings > General > Software Update. Bluetooth interference: Other wireless devices or physical obstructions can sometimes interfere with Bluetooth signals. Try moving away from potential sources of interference. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.
