I am naturally strawberry blonde/auburn but I have thin platinum blonde money pieces and highlights throughout. I typically try to keep them rose gold/pink but have been struggling to find the right product that gives me the tone & vibrancy I am craving. A friend told me about Splat & I will never be the same. The dye is so easy to apply, I left it on for about two hours to ensure a super rich color & wow. I am so impressed. Will never use another product, this is totally it. Hopefully the color lasts after many washes but either way I am in love.

We're sorry to hear you weren't satisfied with our product. Splat is a semi-permanent color which means it's not oxidative. So going into a swimming pool with chlorine will make the color fade and or wash out. In the future we recommend wearing a swimming cap to protect the hair color.

I used this hair dye last night and the color was pretty nice but this literally will not wash out and it stains everything you own i swear this would not come out of my shower and was staining my bed even after i rinsed and shampooed right after as listed and it won't come out of my scalp and i don't know how to fix this. i can't lay down or even brush my hair or anything because it will just stain everything. Also this literally gave me so much irritation on my skin which has NEVER happened to me with any other hair dye so i think i won't be using this again

STAINS:
Stains on the bathtub:
- Spray Scrubbing Bubbles, or Lysol disinfecting spray that contains hydrogen peroxide. Let the spray sit on the stains for 10 minutes, scrub for 2 minutes, rinse, and repeat the process as needed.
- You can also scrub the stains with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and it will help lift the stains.
- Dampen the surface and sprinkle Ajax or Comet cleaner. Lightly scrub with a moist sponge to make a paste and scrub till the stains start to lift. Rinse and repeat as needed.
- Clorox Foamer, Scrubbing Bubbles or Lysol with Hydrogen. Spray the cleaner on the stains and let sit for 10-20 minutes. Scrub, rinse, and repeat as needed.

FACE/SKIN:
Stains on your face or skin:
- Use a non-gel toothpaste and a damp washcloth, and scrub the stains for about 5 minutes, rinse and repeat as needed.
- Mix together baking soda and dish soap, using a damp washcloth, scrub the stains for 5 minutes, rinses and repeat as needed.
- Use baby wipes on your face, hands, neck, ears. Rub the stains till the wipe no longer has any moisture in it.
- For your hands, use an exfoliating scrub to wash your hands and the stains will lift.
- Use hairspray to help remove the stains on skin.
- Hand sanitizer with a cotton ball
- Facial astringent with a cotton ball
- Zep Cherry Bomb Industrial Hand Cleaner (customer's fave)
- Apply shave cream to the areas of the skin that are stained then with a damp cloth(not completely wet)rub off the shave cream.
Scalp:
Stains on your scalp
* Mix some sugar with coconut oil, rub on stained areas and then shampoo.
In order to stop all the bleeding and staining we recommend that you do a really good rinse with cooler water, rinse the hair until the water runs clear, shampoo the hair really good making sure all excess color is being shampooed out, rinse again with cooler water until the water runs clear, apply conditioner allowing it to set for a few minutes then do the last final rinse with cooler water until the water runs clear. Splat is a semi-permanent color / direct dye and these types of dyes just coat the hair meaning they sit on the hair shaft and don't really penetrate unless the hair is very porous.

Great color. Works on dark brunette hair. However, it washes out too easily. I had to re-apply it and keep my hair untouched for 2 days until I could finally confirm it was safe to wash. But it stays for over a month (if applied correctly), which I really like.

I’d rather give a negative review! This box had been opened and resealed shut! No gloves or instructions in the box. The dye was horrible, it dyed my scalp and not my hair. I’ve dyed my hair for so many years I don’t read instructions anymore, Iuckily I had gloves. Seller obviously doesn’t check returns. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SELLER OR PRODUCT! My roots are still blonde, my scalp is splotchy orange! 😡😡

BUYER BEWARE! I would give this negative stars if I could! My daughter and I used this on her virgin hair on May 4, 2024. On August 27, 2024 I decided to let her get highlights put into her hair for the first time. As it had been 4 months since she used Splat, there were no more remnants of the Ruby color since it claims to last “up to 30 washes.” LIE! Somewhere, this stuff was still lingering in her hair and as the bleach was on her head, it turned HOT PINK! Four hours in the salon, three rounds of toner, and a lot of money later, and her hair still has pink in it. She is devastated and the company has yet to respond to me.

Direct dyes do not require oxidation or developer for the color to stain the hair. In areas where the hair is more porous, this type of color will show greater intensity. Caution must be exercised when utilizing a semi-permanent hair color on porous hair; it can stain the hair permanently. Sometimes, using strong bleaches will make the direct dye go further into the hair shaft and lodge even more stubbornly inside the hair. There are ways to strategically fade or remove the direct dye from the hair. Thanks for sharing with us!

I have professional experience and training as a certified Paul Mitchell Colorist and Cosmetologist from working with MAC Cosmetics over the years. I love the Splat Midnight series because I don't like the damage from using bleach so I dye my hair with Splat's vast variety of color in the Midnight series. Whether it's touching up my color from time to time or changing it into a new color. Today I used a blend to touch up my hair and used the Midnight Magenta and Amethyst to get this awesome effect.

I put this on my daughter's hair for a fun summer color. Worst mistake ever!! I have used other pink semipermanent hair color in the past and it washed out very quickly. This color WILL NOT come out. My daughter lives in the pool and the lake over the summer, washing her hair everytime she gets out and the color is still there. A color remover made the color neon. 3+ hours in a hair salon trying to get this color out and every stylist is stumped on what to do next because EVERYTHING has been tried. The worst part is everytime someone asks what brand we use, they all have the same response when I tell them "Splat." They all say it's the worst. My daughter is in a wedding in just over 2 weeks and she is stuck with splotchy pink hair. This product should not be advertised as semi-permanent. You can't get it out even if you try. Horrible. This shouldn't be allowed to be sold in stores.

If you find your color is stubborn, we also see results with the following method (requires a few more ingredients, but still no bleach) baking soda, dish soap, 10 vol developer, purple shampoo. You can see a tutorial using this method here.

The color is alot more pastel than what the box shows. I have bleached hair and i thought this would be a bright pink like the pictures. It was way more pastel. Its a pretty color, but not what i wanted or what i thought i would get.

I ususally use "LustyLavender" and The Fact That they only sell this Color Near my house- i tried it, WHAT A MISTAKE! IM APHAULED AT THE FACT THAT I WAS REALLY BLONDE AND WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO THE WORLD OF PURPLE, BUT I AM SERIOUSLY REGRETTING AND OLD LOOKING- GREY- ONE WASH- MY HAIR IS NOW GREY! One of the worst hair dye I have used! It has stained everything, my skin, MY SCALP ( I didn't rub it in! ) clothes and didn't fully wash off after 30 minutes rinsing it off! Worst product ever! Please don't buy! I'm literally crying this is so bad!!
