You can only play the game with other people online if they own a Switch and a copy of the game. That being said, the Nintendo Switch supports two players via the Joy-Cons included with games supporting that style of play such as Mario Kart 8. Games like Just Dance support up to six players, requiring two more pair of Joy-Cons sold separately to max out the fantastic fun on your console! I have never played Splatoon before, and I have always heard about it but just didn't think I would be interested in the game. However, I brought Splatoon 2 because I was inexperienced and didn't think I was advanced enough for the 3rd iteration. May I wish I would have got the 3rd version because this is so fun! I can't put it down. Still don't know all the ends and outs because I have only played it for a day, but it is good and well worth the purchase!

this is such a fun game that allows you to team with 3 other players to paint different maps and fight to be the most painted. it requires strat and grinding for coins so you can dress your character as wanted. i dont get what's with all these parents leaving bad reviews due to the game specifically being an online PVP single player game that is stated on description. there are many games that require ONLINE for online gaming. it's only $12 for a year which can be used for other online games. its not JUST splatoon2. please read before making a purchase.

Bought this for our kids play together but it is only 1 player! Very deceptive because in one of the previews made it seem like you could play on teams hence more than one player. Also you use the remote to move around vs the joystick so it’s super sensitive and takes a bit to get use to it. But kids don’t mind playing it but definitely not worth the amount of money!

The game is itself is good to play if you’re not doing anything. Something to kill time. PROS: Good for adults and kids No bad language so far Easy controls Colorful CONS: Needs a membership Only 1 player no split screen No option to sell old guns to buy new ones. Takes time for people to join game Yes comparing the yearly membership price to others its cheap… BUT if you will buy a membership to just play this only its not worth it. Kids are not even allowed to play all the time either. If there are families or friends who have this game, has own consoles each then its good and the membership is not a waste. The game itself is expensive and cant even play together.

This game is amazing for a PG pvp! My sisters from ages 7-23 all love this game (we mostly play online)! I don’t understand why there are so many complaints about purchasing a membership to play online. For every console out there, you need to purchase a membership to play online. In fact, Nintendo offers the cheapest online membership of $20 a year! Xbox and Ps4 games are $50-60 that also need an online membership which is $10/month or $60/year for online! Nintendo is the best value :)

Played this game quite a bit over the last year since I was stuck at home so much. Sorta wish I had that time back. Parts of this game are ok. Most of it is pretty bad. The developers have no clue on how to accurately grade players. Its even worse in Salmon Run. 95% of the games are completely non-competitive. And for a game thats been out so long, there are a ton if technical issues still. It's hard to go 3 to 4 straight games (on a good day) without losing a teammate cuz of a disconnection issue, causing you to lose points. Also, I would have way more respect for this game if they just automatically dropped your grade down a level or two instead of forcing you to lose every game for 15 in a row. Its aggravating and take a lot of fun out of the game. Having to buy Nintendo's online plan is also a drag, this is the only online game i play on switch, so thats also a huge turnoff. Also, I had to upgrade my internet and router to avoid constant connections as mentioned above. When you disconnect too many times per night, you get suspended from the game (which is bogus and not your fault). So keep that in mind if you don't have top of the line internet speeds. Overall, just avoid this game or maybe wait for Splatoon 3 and see if they put in any effort for that one.

This game is the sequel to Splatoon and it is amazing! While you cant play with computer players the online servers are great! The controls are easy to learn so controlling is not a problem. There are so many weapons to choose from with each of them having its own unique ability. You cannot play split-screen like In the original, but you can play via internet connection in The Shoal. You can easily start lobbies to play with friends. I think the game is great and you should totally buy it.
