A: Yes, Lizzie it will, in order to redeem it you will have the have a Nintendo account, go to the Eshop, and plug in the code (Make sure when you plug in the code you are on the account that you want the expansion will go to)

You have to have the full game Splatoon 2 first, this is DLC, an ADD ON to the game. You can't use this if you do not already have the game. Also, for those saying that when you type in the code it says you don't have the game, put the cartridge in the Nintendo switch and then try again. It needs to be in so the Switch recognizes the game. If all else fails, call Nintendo for help.

The base game, splatoon 2, compliments this DLC as it works along side it. The Octo Expansion has been very challenging, but still enjoyable along with the other game modes of the base game.

It is such an amazing game expansion! I love playing as the octoling and I love the story mode! People need to learn how to read and stop giving it bad reviews because it clearly says its a dlc expansion and you obviously need the original game!

I really like it because it puts you into a challenge. it makes your mind stress but when you finish it,it's worth it. you can become an octoling anytime after you play it! It also helps you improve your gaming experience,this is coming form a level 53+ player who has played this dlc. 10/10 would recommend to any player who wants to improve.

This game was at a okay price, but the main reason i wanted this Octo Expansion was to get the character. You had to go through challenges and stuff but it was still worth it. Totally recommend though!

So after downloading the game, we received the same error codes stated below. After calling Nintendo, which was extremely helpful, we learned that this game is the extension of the original game. You cannot play this game without first purchasing the Splatoon game...(the more expensive version). So, I'm sure this digital game is great if it works for you. On a side note, they should really update the description to reflect that this is an extension, the the actual game.

i got splatoon 2 for Xmas and i wanted to get octo expansion, well my b-day isn't far from Xmas so my dad got it for me for my b-day, and it would not play, so i have to wait for the next day to call nintendo bacause my b-day is MLK day.

The octo expansion is really good, way better than breath of the wild DLC. the levels may be hard, but beating them is very satisfying. people complain that you have to download the game and that is annoying, but that's the point, so you can play as an octoling in the actual game, as in turf wars and salmon run. BTW it doesn't say verified purchaser because I downloaded it on the e-shop.

Really upset that we purchased this download and in order for my child to play this game you have to purchase the original game. I called to get a refund because we do not have the game and the lady said we cannot get a refund. Do not purchase unless you have the game because you cannot use this download.

When I put the code in the Eshop / downloaded It basically wanted me to buy the whole game all over again. Saying that I "Must have the software to play" when I had the Splatoon 2 cartridge. Didn't work.
