Q: Can you change the battery?

There is a silicone like cover over the battery once you remove that you can slide it out and put a new one in. A: Hi Lynn, Thank you for your question. The Stamina InMotion Compact Strider does move similar to an elliptical. The stride is not as long as an average elliptical. It is a mini elliptical essentially. I hope this helps. Have a great day!
