Q: Are the parts reversible/can the desk be mirrored? I.e. can the crank be on the left side, and the tilting part of the desk be moved to the right?

Been wanting to get one of these for a while now as "sitting is the new smoking" or so I'm led to believe. I tried ordering from another company and it was a disaster. But this desk is perfect!! I love it. It's large enough to hold my two screens with more room to spare for a lamp, stapler, etc and the keyboard tray is sturdy and large enough for my keyboard and mouse and a few other things. Very happy with my order, plan on getting one for my boss now.

I'd like to provide a detailed review after using this desk for 2 weeks, covering the ways it has improved my work station, as well as a few things I don't love. Praise: I'm a graphic designer and illustrator, and I'd definitely recommend this as a optimized solution. As a first time user of a split level desk, I do think this is an improvement over a unified surface. The screen of my iMac is perfectly positioned while my hands are comfortable for typing. Additionally, you can think of it as having one "active" surface and one "inactive" surface. It's easy and effective to transfer things you aren't actively using to the upper surface — especially drinks that you don't want to accidentally spill. The drafting surface functions as expected, and it's useful to have four distinct angle options. I use a steeper angle when drawing on my iPad than when I'm sketching or inking on paper. The crank can be placed on either side of the desk, which allows you to snug the non-crank side against furniture. Manual hand cranks will always outlast electronic systems, so I think this is always the best option. I've placed tape markers on the wall behind my desk so that I can stop cranking at my preferred heights from the floor. Finally, I love that this desk is available in black. When white desks are placed near bright lights or windows, the reflection can be fatiguing on your eyes. The black surface absorbs light and makes it easy to see anything that's been placed on the desk. Complaints: On at least one occasion, cranking in the down position created an unwanted side-to-side motion where the desk began tilting to the right and contacting a piece of furniture. I had to reverse the crank twice before it lowered correctly. I have no idea what caused this or how to avoid it. The drafting surface is very slippery, so everything will immediately slide off. Additionally, so many customers have complained about how uncomfortable the metal stop is that I didn't even install it. Instead, I purchased a piece of non-slip rubber mat from my local hardware store, which is designed for wood workers to place their work on for sanding or routing without it moving. This rubber is extremely effective at keeping sketchbooks or my iPad from sliding off. In the two most aggressive angles, however, I need to clamp an additional piece of wood trim to the surface to keep them from sliding. The metal stop is located at the very bottom of the drafting surface, but I normally work in my sketchbook near the top, so it would have been ineffective anyways. One of the screw receptacles on the underside of the rear surface was not seated correctly, preventing me from turning a screw into position. Fortunately, this screw didn't effect the structural integrity of the desk. In short, the benefits of this desk easily out weigh the complaints I have, and I expect this product to last for many years. The parts seem to be designed and manufactured to a high standard of quality, which is worth paying more money for. I specifically wanted to avoid buying a desk with a majority of plastic parts, which in my opinion always leads to breakage and a shorter product lifespan.

We love the stand up desk so much, this is the 2nd one we have purchased. The surface area provides plenty of room to work and the manual crank allowed for height adjustment as needed. The instructions for assembly were very clear and we were able to assemble the desk in short order with no hitch. The desk is very well made.

Love this desk! Never loved an office desk like this before. I don't have to worry about it breaking down since there is a crank on the left to lift this desk up. I have so much desk space!

I was very pleased to find this hand-crank desk with tilting draft table. My wife has been in need of something along the lines of a drafting table, and she also wanted it to be height adjustable. We weren't keen on getting an electric motor height adjustable because we felt mechanical would be the better long-term investment. When I saw this offered, I pounced on it to surprise my wife. We received it pretty quick, and assembly was reasonable for one person (though, two people might be more efficient for certain steps). My wife is very happy with it, so that makes me very happy with it, and means that we give it the full 5-star treatment :) Highly recommended!

I was pretty hesitant to buy this desk because I just couldn't imagine what it'd feel like to actually work on one. Would it be as comfortable as I'd pictured it- or would the raised metal edge lining the bottom border of the lower panel make me resign my arms to odd resting positions? I had so very many questions that could only be satisfiably answered by trying out what the desk actually feels like first-hand; so I decided to do just that and push through with my order. Let me tell you: this is an amazing desk. By far the best I've ever used, let own! Hinging, shifting, tilting, rising/lowering, and cranking parts all do their jobs with incredibly fluid ease. The most important parts of the desk are big enough to give you a good stretch of space, but don't extend to overwhelmingly fill a room. I got the white/birch colored desk and was wonderfully surprised by how much I wound up liking viewing the tone of the wood in person! The only reason I've put down 4 stars instead of 5, is that my desk came dented and dinged. One of the wooden panels had a slight curve to its surface, and the metal bar solidly defining the height separation between the top and bottom desktops was dented. When you stand back to look at the table or sit in front of it, you can clearly see a groove/circular indentation besmirching the length of this plank of metal... I've no doubt that this table will help me fix my posture- it's a great desk overall.

I needed something that would hold a monitor and a keyboard, each at the right height for comfortable working. And the desk width is perfect to hold papers for viewing at the same time.

Packages came complete, intact, undamaged. Desk assembled seamlessly, no parts missing. Hand crank works. Sturdy, stable, no flex in the legs. I fit all parts with screws only to depth, but not tightened, and then iteratively and gradually tightened screws all around. The result is a rock solid assembly. Sure, you could break it if you dropped a truck on it. The reviews for the electronic standing desks had too many complaints about the height presents not working and requiring unplugging, resets and other nonsense to make them work. So I chose hand crank. I take the hand crank out after each use so it doesn’t get accidentally jostled and bent.
