Straightforward, light-bodied with low acidity, and immensely popular since 1971, our darkest roast is adored for its intense smokiness. We source 100% arabica beans when crafting our coffee. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This review is for Starbucks French Roast. I must admit it isn't my favorite coffee in the world. For some reason all the regular coffees st Starbucks have this weird, burnt like taste to then and this one is no exception. I do however keep trying in hopes that I will like Starbucks coffee but not yet. Because of this, I tend to stick to the refresher and the Chai. I made this coffee using a stove percolator and drank it as an iced coffee with cream and 2 sugars

I'm a loyal Peet's Coffee drinker but wanted to try out this dark roast... boy was I disappointed! Immediately after opening the bag I got a huge whiff of tuna fish. Yes, tuna fish! UGH. Never again. Back to my amazing cup of Peet's Major Dickason that never disappoints.

Something has changed. Smells and tastes HORRIBLE. What happened to Starbucks French Roast. Yuck. Been drinking it for years, and something has changed..for the worse.

I have the Target app. When looking for deals there was a buy two at such and such but only if I ordered it for pickup! So standing in front of the coffee I ordered and paid for a pick up instead. Weird but did get it for the reduced price several days later.

I have been drinking Starbucks French Roast for years. I receive it at home from Keurig. I opened a new shipment yesterday. It is definitely a different coffee. I want my old French Roast, please!

Purchased in store and returned it a week later. At first I tried to use it as it was my first time buying this ground coffee thinking maybe that’s how it’s supposed to smell but couldn’t do it. Bag was stale - smelled horrible. I saw other reviews from 2020 stating the same thing- so Starbucks is still allowing stale batches to be sold

My husband usually prefers to grind Starbucks whole coffee beans and use an aeropress to make coffee. This takes time and isn’t always convenient. This ground coffee is easy to make- saves time and tastes great!

I really want my old Starbucks French Roast back. I’ve been drinking the best coffee for years. Now it’s too Smokey and why put caramel in it? I’m not fond of Carmel in my coffee. I have to switch brands to find what I like. I’ll miss you Starbucks.

I have been drinking Starbuck's French Roast Intense and Smoky for years. I love the taste of it. The time I placed my order for Intense and Smokey I received notes of Carmel. I am not a fan of that blend. It doesn't have that INTENSE taste anymore. Where is the Intense and Smokey?

The ground coffee, Starbucks ground french, has lost is it rich flavor. Tastes, well has no taste other than a cardboard taste weak taste, even when made stronger. Use to have a distinctive rich smell and taste, full body not water down, I know you will say nothing has changed, but it truly has. It has lost it uniqueness.

For years I’ve been drinking the dark roast (intense & Smokey) I absolutely loved the flavor. But now it seems as I received my quarterly box of 96 they did send French roast but it’s (notes of dark caramel & sweet smoke) not even close to the strong and bitterness of what I’m use to. So before ordering double check the order for the site says one description of flavor but the actual is something different
