Perfect size for a hot dip. Kept Queso warm for hours! I was looking for a 1 quart specifically for dips and appetizers. Loved that it also came as an oval. This little Cocotte hardly takes up any space, fits in perfectly with everything else.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great for sautéing, baking or even warming up leftover food. I put cacao nibs on top of chocolate brownies and baked them in this pot in a countertop oven. When I took the lid off the pot, flavorful steam came from the brownies and they were moist and delicious. You can also use it to make little side dishes like sautéed green beans, steamed broccoli or a corn on the cob.

The enamel coating means no seasoning and so much easier to clean. The matte interior gives superior browning and an easy release. The spikes on the underside of the lid redistribute moisture while cooking keeping everything nice and juicy. Its great on the stovetop and in the oven.

Great for side dishes for a crowd, or for smaller servings for one with leftovers. It is a great size for chili, stews, beans, mac 'n cheese, and the leftovers can be stored right in the cocotte in the fridge, then straight to the stove or oven to heat up the leftovers! Compatable with all heat sources as well!

This small oval cocotte is perfect when cooking for one or two or also perfect for a side dish. The matte black interior does not need to be seasoned and cleans up beautifully. The flat lid has dimples that collect condensation allowing it to rain down on the food inside providing a moist self basting environment.

They say good things come in small packages and this is a good example! Perfect for smaller side dishes or for 1-2 people. You can virtually cook anything in these - heat chicken, potatoes, make 1 pot meals, rice and pastas. The moisture stays locked in, due to the spikes or dots on the lids. So nothing is dried out when serving!

This little cocotte is quite useful. I use is to serve side dishes for dinner as well as any sauces we have. The heat capability of the pan is amazing - heats up quickly and evenly, also stays hot for hours, perfect for dinner time. I have also used it to serve hot cheese dips at football parties.

I love this pot and I love it in Matte Black. A million years ago, as a student in France, I was served a cassoulet in something just like this - an adorable black oval cast iron pot. It was a revelation. Mostly because it was so personal; my own meal. Not served family style, not perfectly plated. Just a very hearty stew made of duck and sausage and beans. There is something special about putting an individual pot in front of someone - it makes the meal that much more special. This size is good for sharing for two or cooking for one with leftovers. And whatever you braise, roast, simmer, boil, bake in a Staub cast iron pan, you can count on to come out beautifully. The quality cast iron insures even heating and consistent cooking.

Small but Mighty! I live alone so this size is just perfect for me for more dishes than I can count. I use it for small pots of chili, stew for one, macaroni and cheese, i have even baked a small loaf of bread for myself. All the benefits of the larger cocottes but for a smaller household.

It's hard for a pot to be cute but this one really is. Great for cooking cereals and grains or individual portions this pot can do what ever a larger cocotte can but on a smaller scale. Imagine a small loaf of bread for two or a macaroni and cheese bake...yum!
