[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautiful pot. This is what Bouchon Bistro, the Thomas Keller restaurant in Napa that’s not the French Laundry, uses to serve their mussels.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shape for this vessel facilitates steam which cooks the seafood gently. Practically “Set It & Forget It”. Perfect size for a “Date Night” meal for 2. This pot is my new little kitchen helper. I also use it in my toaster oven, I prefer to cook in cast iron whenever I can

This was a definite splurge, but I love this pot. So unusual, love the little basket that separates the seafood from the liquid. Cast iron enamel keeps mussels at the perfect temperature, as well as the broth. I feel like I'm in a 5 star restaurant every time I use it. Perfect size for a romantic dinner for two!

This is such a cool piece. The matte enamel coating makes using cast iron a breeze. There is no seasoning required and you can use soap to clean it without worry. The base is flat for easy use on the stovetop and the tight fitting lid holds in the heat. I love the little grate to separate the shells from the broth allowing for easy dipping of my bread......yum

I love the mussel pot and use it so much from Fall until Spring. I love taking it to the beach and getting a firepit to make our dinner in right there. It is a unique piece and makes a great addition to any collection. Cleans up easily with a soft spounge and some warm water.

Designed for cooking shellfish perfectly, it backs up the promise. Screen separation between juices and shells...it also has enamel inside and out for years of tough use.

There are two pieces in the Staub collection that I think exemplify the brilliance of Staub. This is one of them. (The other is the tea pot.) There is a trilogy of features that I look for when I buy cooking tools and supplies. Smart design. Beauty. Uncompromised cooking quality. This mussel pot was clearly designed by someone who enjoys steamed shellfish with a crusty baguette. The pot is a good entree portion for one, a hearty appetizer for two. The grate acts as a gate for dipping bread or frites. It's shape and color mimic a mussel a nice touch of whimsy when presented. The cast iron composition is perfect for sauteing and steaming. Even if I make a mistake in cooking, its so much fun, that no one cares! Not just for mussels and clams. Because of the size an excellent cooking properties I have used mine for many other things - stews, curries, bakes.

Staub has outdone themselves with the design of this pot. It is the amazing quality that all the cast iron is made, with the perfect shape and features for mussels or clams. Cast iron naturally holds heat really well, which makes it perfect for serving from at your table.

Staub had created the perfect pot to steam mussels or clams or really any shellfish you love. The flat bottom ensures even heating and the interior strainer allows you to separate the delicious broth from the shells. The heavy lid holds in the steam and the matte black interior provides easy clean up. Like all Staub this pot needs no "seasoning".

We love steamed mussels and love this pot to go along with the feeling. Great for clams, too - just add garlic and wine or a tomato base. The stainer piece is perfect so you can strain out the juice, get French bread and dip! Add a glass of wine and is a perfect meal!

Mussels and clams are a staple where we live. This pot is perfect for steaming or cooking these delicate shell fish in broth. Cooks evenly with few unopened shells and stays hot for serving. Can be used in the oven, on the stove pot or over an open fire!

I hope I have a picture to share when I cooked a mouthwatering mussel in this mussel pot. I love the feature of its lid, a dome like, it holds up mussel shell casing once it opens up and still have space the rest of the ingredients. This pot is also great for variety of shellfish, clams, crabs & even lobster.
