Q: the legs dont go all the way to the top so a bit unstable due to a ridge on the inside of the top hole also creating a gab between the leg and top is this a defect or what?

Q: Does this product carry a Prop 65 warning for CA residents? If so, what material is the cause for the Prop 65 warning?

A: Thank you for contacting Step2. The Prop 65 label is applied to the product if it contains some type of wood or potential cancer causing chemical for the state of California. The wood is actually MDF Medium-density fiberboard (MDF) which is an engineered wood product. This MDF board included with product is used to support mattress. MDF board is a compound of wood dust and scrap bonded together by a resin containing formaldehyde - a form of carcinogen. When MDF is cut, sanded, shaped or machined in any way, it releases clouds of dust particles coated with formaldehyde. Please note that all Step2 toys and playground products produced and their components whether indoor or outdoor that placed into the marketplace are indeed tested for compliance. Initially, I struggled to install the legs, but the tip about using cooking spray on the legs works! It still took some effort but eventually they popped into place. I still had a little gap, but after letting it sit for a couple minutes after hearing the initial pop, I was then able to easily press it all the way down.

Great table! The first thing my toddler did was fill it with water so I love the versatility. The legs are very tough to get in but I used the cooking spray hack and they went in with minimal effort.

Great young kids, this table provides hours of fun with sand and water. Durable but needs regular water changes to prvent algae growth. Drain can get clogged with sand, causing mess. Overall, a good buy kids' playtime.

Terrible sand table design. The lid doesn't do anything to keep water out at all. I purchased this for my son and after the first rain we had the sand is completely soaked and the table is holding a significant amount of water.

Okay, looks great, if only the legs could go in. Far, far, far too difficult. One of the leg holes is simply not cut right, so the leg won't go in. The shop seller said it'd be difficult, so clearly a know problem with this product. Whatever you do, don't try to assemble in front of your kid, they get very upset when it can't be put together.

Honestly super cute concept and design but the legs are impossible to put on. it should not be this difficult for plastic legs to pop into a sand table. I will not buy again unless I knew the design was not flawed. finally got the legs in but one or two of them have not popped in correctly so they are a little flimsy. Not flush as they should be. The plastic was warped and I literally had to chip away the plastic just to get some of the legs to fit in. Broke a sweat and hurt myself in the process. It should not be difficult

All put together, the legs were hard to get in place. All done. Large enough for excavator, Tow truck etc. Came with some build a castle items & shovels. Lid is easy to put on & off. Stays on.
