Q: Is it safe to give my 8 month old this yogurt?

submitted by Edrees - 8 months ago
  • A: Hello. The American Academy of Pediatricians approves adding yogurt to a baby's diet starting after six months of age. Children should stay on Whole Milk products until the age of 2. Of course, since every child is different, you should check with your pediatrician before feeding yogurt to your baby.

Q: Is this product pasture raised and grass fed?

submitted by Noel - 9 months ago
  • A: Hello. Cows must have access to pasture to graze on a mixture of grasses, legumes such as alfalfa and clover, and other nutritious plants. The amount of time a cow spends on pasture depends on the time of year, the weather, the feeding program of the individual farmer, and the regional location of the farm; the minimum pasture requirement for lactating cows is 120 days per growing season. For more information, please reach out to us at https://live-stonyfield.pantheonsite.io/about/contact-us/ One of our consumer relations experts will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Q: Why is your whole milk yogurt considered a pre and probiotic, but not your non-fat yogurt?

submitted by Rue - 3 years ago
  • A: Thank you for inquiring about the Probiotics in our Whole Milk quart yogurts. Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that when consumed regularly can provide a health benefit to the body. In addition to live active cultures, Stonyfield Whole Milk quart yogurts contain the added probiotic BB12® (Bifidobacterium). Our Low Fat and Fat Free yogurts do not contain any added probiotics, but they do contain varying combinations of other cultures for up to a total of six. The amount of live and active cultures we use meets or exceeds the culture amount required of yogurt. You can learn more about the cultures we’ve chosen here: http://www.stonyfield.com/healthy-people/our-yogurt/live-cultures.
