Book Synopsis

Can you imagine how liberating it would be to never be disillusioned again, never be disappointed again, never feel let down again? Want to wake up, come alive, and be free? Anthony De Mello's Stop Fixing Yourself is the answer you have been looking for.

The question Anthony De Mello's Stop Fixing Yourself poses and successfully answers is: Can you attain enlightenment without the slightest effort on your part? Spiritual seekers exhausted from years of fruitless striving might well sigh deeply and think, "If only that were true." Well, Anthony De Mello asserts it is true. Stop Fixing Yourself: Wake Up, All Is Well provides the simple path to living an enlightened life.

De Mello tells us that if you are watchful and awake, all that is false and neurotic within you will drop away and you will begin to live increasingly from moment to moment in a life made whole and happy and transparent through awareness. Awareness transforms you from a seeker to a finder, opening your eyes to the reality of the love, peace, and beauty that has always surrounded you. Awareness will set you free.

In Stop Fixing Yourself, De Mello's down-to-earth teaching method helps you discover true awareness, releasing the divinity all around you and making your life meaningful, beautiful, and prosperous.

Review Quotes

"Although he was only on the planet for fifty-five years, his teachings are as much alive today as they ever were. Tony's unique ability of joining Western and Eastern spirituality made his teachings inspirational and transformative."--Rhonda Byrne, author of The Secret and The Greatest Secret

"This is not a book to be read. It's a book to be absorbed into your being. Little by little. One idea, one passage, one chapter at a time. This thin volume yields tremendous inner wealth."--Neil Strauss, New York Times bestselling author of The Truth

Don Joseph Goewey is the director of the Center for Spiritual Exchange, the agency founded by Anthony De Mello. Don managed the Department of Psychiatry at Stanford University Medical School and also directed the Center for Attitudinal Healing that pioneered a psycho-spiritual approach to overcoming catastrophic life events; in 2005, the Center was awarded the AMA's Excellence in Medicine citation. He has worked with people in some of the most stressful situations on earth--from refugees of war to people facing life-threatening illnesses. Don also participated in a think tank that integrated psychology, spirituality, and neuroscience into an approach for resolving the reactive patterns caused by fear conditioning.

Don is the author of Mystic Cool: The Neuroplasticity of Attitude and The End of Stress, both of which facilitate the shift in mindset that changes brain structure to quiet stress reactions and amplify the higher brain function that predicts greater success and happiness in life. Don is also the editor of the works by the late Anthony De Mello, including Stop Fixing Yourself: Wake Up, All is Well, A Year with Anthony De Mello: Waking Up Week by Week, and the Awareness Deck: 108 Cards for Selection and Inspiration.
