  • A: This is not the entended use for the paper. While it may work, we haven't tested it in a laser printer and cannot say for certain. Since results vary with different printers, you would want to test it

Super great paper for watercolor sketching, not the best for heavy duty intensive pieces, but gets the job done!

The paper sheets in this pad are of great quality. Thick enough that the paint doesn't soak through.

This is the worst. Super thin paper that can't hold any water without wrinkling. I'm not exaggerating when I say copy paper works better than this.

Not for artists

It's great for children. If you plan on making nice art it absorbs way too quickly and makes your paints blotchy. Can't make good gradients. And it bubbles horribly.

Love this pad, this is always my go-to for our daughter to paint. Great size and just the right thickness. I often will cut one page in half to get two paintings out of one.

Perfect for Student Artists, Buckles Easily

After using up 4 Strathmore paper pads, I decided to get this Watercolor pad to start learning how to paint with watercolors. I did a full page painting on this pad (see photo for reference). The hues of my watercolor paints lay down beautifully and intensely on this paper. I love that the sheets are cold pressed, a fancy way of saying that they're textured (hot press paper = more smooth). However, the paper buckled quite easily after I placed two washes / layers of watercolor paint on the page. But then again, Strathmore's website does say that the paper pad in its 200 Series (which includes this pad) is for practicing and experimenting only, not for finished artwork like what you see in the photo. But there are ways to flatten a buckled painting / prevent the buckling from happening (like soaking the paper first, according to the Strathmore company's online article "Stretching Watercolor Paper"). Overall, if you want to experiment with watercolor painting and are okay with your paper being wavy, as I am, this is a great pad to use with solid quality paper! Otherwise, I suggest the watercolor paper from Strathmore's 300 Series (Yellow Covers) / 400 Series (Brown and Green Covers).

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this paper. Each sheet is extremely hardy, elegantly smooth, and very resistant to balling up. I highly recommended for beginners who are too aggressive with blending.

Excellent value for a high quality product. The price is lower than what I would’ve paid at our local craft store.
