This is the third book of the Prince Edward Island series and it's a wonderful way to wrap up the series. Lighthouses are appealing to me, so I was immediately drawn to the beautiful cover but the story inside is what made this book so special! Author Liz Johnson gives readers one of the best boyfriends/heroes ever! Levi Ross is a man of few words so this makes what he says even more special. His romance with Kelsey Ahern is both sweet and heartwarming, along with their joint efforts to save the Victorian Playhouse. These two are meant to be together, if...they can both work through some personal stumbling blocks! Summer in the Spotlight is the perfect way to wrap up the Prince Edward Island series and readers of the other two books will enjoy a reunion with the other two Ross brothers. I recommend this book to all who enjoy contemporary Christian romance. I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Revell Reads. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.

Summer in the Spotlight by Liz Johnson is book three in her Prince Edward Island Shores series, and even though it rounds out the Ross family's story, it will leave you wishing for more! If you love small-town romances, then you will enjoy this book, it's quirky but lovely characters and breathtaking views. And like me, you'll put PEI on my travel bucket list! In book two, we got a glimpse of Levi's heart even if we didn't hear his voice, so I was SO excited to dig deeper into his story and watch him bloom over the summer with Kelsey by his side. I love the theater setting, the uniqueness of their production, and watching what happens when people come together and work hard for each other. And I loved the chemistry between Kelsey and Levi, even when she was filling most of the silence. They just fit together. It was so much fun to follow their slow-burn romance. And Dustin! I loved his spirit, and Levi's story definitely would not have been the same without him! So, if you're itching to check in on your favorite family from PEI, put Summer in the Spotlight on top of your TBR. It's the perfect end-of-summer reading! I was given a copy of this book by the publisher with no expectations of a positive review.

Summer in the Spotlight by Liz Johnson is the delightful tale of Kelsey Ahern. Kelsey is the drama teacher at the high school and loves her job. She also helps out with the local theater. Her late grandmother has inspired her love for the theater. During an unfortunate hurricane, which damages part of the school, Kelsey is comforted by school custodian and longtime acquaintance Levi Ross. What is it the Kelsey feels for Levi? Why does Levi hold his words and not speak very often. How can Kelsey deal with the news of the local theater closing? Can it be saved? Will Kelsey have a job? What role will Levi play in all of this? Summer in the Spotlight is a wonderful read! I throughly enjoyed the twists and turns of this romantic novel. The story is set in Canada, so you may be trying to covert kilometers to miles. Overall it was a great book to enjoy and I did enjoy the book. I would recommend Summer in the Spotlight.

I could not wait to read Levi’s story. I first met him in an earlier Prince Edward Island Shores novel, and he had my heart right away. When Levi talks, everyone knows it’s because he has something important to say. A man of few words seems rare these days, and it made me love him all the more. Levi can fix anything and has the biggest heart. There doesn’t seem to be a selfish bone in his body. As Kelsey gets to know him better she gets a glimpse of what kind of man he is. But will she see past her busy life to catch the one thing worth living for. A man that will fight for your dreams as if they are his own. Sigh… I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Romance. I had so much fun reading this book and can’t wait to see what Liz Johnson comes up with next. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell Publishers and was in no way forced to post a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

When a hurricane destroys the Victoria Playhouse, Kelsey finds herself without her theater and her high school drama teaching job as well. The start of the book grabbed my attention right away especially, having been a drama person since high school days. I loved how they worked together to build a theater continue Kelsey's goals. It wasn't quite as attention keeping as the beginning of the book, but was still a sweet and clean romance. This book showed people working together to reach a worthwhile goal. There were reveals of painful pasts and romance. It was a good read. I received an ARC from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All opinions are my own.

This is the story of Kelsey who is determined to rebuild the town's playhouse that was destroyed in a hurricane and her enlisting the help of Levi. Levi is a man of few words and a very wise man who keeps Kelsey from jumping into things too quickly. The two are opposites but make a good team. The plot moves at a good pace and the characters are lovable. This may be read as a standalone even though it is the third and final book in the series. 'Summer in the Spotlight' is an entertaining conclusion to the Prince Edward Island Shores series with a delightful cast of characters—both onstage and off! Haters of the dreaded love triangle, have no fear. It's fairly obvious who the spunky teacher and drama coach, Kelsey Ahern, will lose her heart to...but the journey to romance is often quite rocky! The reticent, yet kind facilities director, Levi Ross, teams up with Kelsey to produce a benefit show to rebuild the Victoria Playhouse which was destroyed by a hurricane. But when a handsome, charming meteorologist takes an interest in Kelsey and her show, will Levi step up his game? Or will it always stay in the friend-zone between the two? A captivating novel about family, overcoming fear, and faith in your dreams! Available at your fave bookseller! *I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and was under no obligation to write a favorable review.*

"If Grandma Coletta had taught her anything, it was that a person's words were tied to their heart. What the mouth said came from the wellspring of the heart." Levi has held a very special place in my heart since the first book of the series and his story was well-worth the wait. His fiercely loyal, self-sacrificing, tender heart under the quiet stoic demeanor was a treasure to unwrap and behold. His actions spoke of his thoughtfulness and keen intelligence and I couldn't get enough of him! The backstory of his silence was heart-breaking but Kelsey's charming and truly delightful presence worked extra hard to pull Levi into a world of hopes and dreams. Their relationship that went from acquaintances to colleagues to friends to more was simply wonderful. I loved catching up with Eli and Violet, as well as Oliver and Megan, and fell in love with some of the secondary characters like Dustin and the Hermans. The faith lessons on overcoming fear because of love and what forgiveness looks like on a daily basis were on point. The setting of Prince Edward Island, even in the aftermath of a hurricane, took my breath away and it has become a destination that I must visit. It’s been a long time since I was a part of a theater production so it was fun to revisit building of sets, the ups and downs of rehearsals, and the adrenaline and sense of accomplishment during and after the show. If you're looking for a great story of hope and rebuilding, this book is perfect for you. I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Revell via NetGalley and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.

“You’re the perfect person to lead this show. Victoria is so lucky to have you,” Kelsey reads in her notebook in Liz Johnson’s novel, Summer in the Spotlight. ~ What ~ The third in the Prince Edward Island Shores series, this three-hundred-and-sixty-eight-page book targets those who enjoy contemporary Christian romance about forgiveness. With no profanity but the use of the word darn, topics of drunkenness, illness, and death may not be appropriate for immature readers. The ending includes acknowledgments, an excerpt from another authored book, acknowledgments, and the author’s biography. Set on Prince Edward Island in Canada, Kelsey has moved back home, mainly to honor her dear grandmother who was the key person who got her into drama and the arts. When a hurricane destroys the town’s playhouse, Kelsey asks Levi, an introvert who barely speaks to anyone, to help her produce a benefit show to rebuild the building. As the two work in tandem to arrange the play, they learn about forgiving themselves for the past and forgiving others for the hurts and disappointments. ~Why ~ This is a simplistic, romantic story of a young woman finding herself and a young man coming out of his shell. I appreciated how the tight-knit town was described and worked together to accomplish their goal. The shyness and insecurities of Levi were well described. ~ Why Not ~ Those who do not like Christian romances will pass on this story that lightly mentions God, yet it is wholesome for younger readers. Although no eternal plan of salvation is discussed, it does have references to the Bible and prayers to God. The protagonist tends to ramble, which may grate on a few readers. Some of the characters are stereotypical, and the ending is predictable. ~ Wish ~ Since I have read several of the author’s novels over the years, I wish this one were not so predictable from the start. ~ Want ~ If you like reading a clean, romantic series about small town living and how to overcome inadequacies while forgiving others, this is a light read. Thanks to Revell for this complimentary book that I am under no obligation to review.
