The blanket gets heated pretty fast and the temperature can be controlled easily. Additionally, there are clear instructions on how to properly and safely wash the blanket. It seems durable and is washable. I’ve only used it a few times in the evenings on the lowest setting and that was plenty warm. My cat sleeps on it during the day as I put it on for her.

It turns off automatically after so long for safety reasons and is large enough to use on the couch. Even at the highest level, this doesn’t get very warm so not sure if I received a defective one or not as the other Sunbeam heated products I have had in the past have gotten much warmer than this.
