A: i really dont know. i purchased it as a gift from a baby registry and can only tell you,that after it was wrapped and ready to go it would play the music when moved. you may want to see it in the store first before buying it. otherwise cute

submitted byPeaches - 8 years agoA: The Mommies Melodies Lamb can be set to “Cry-Activation” mode or normal use. In normal use, we recommend a parent turn the product on. However, in “Cry-Activation” mode, the product will start playing music when the child makes a noise.

Q: How do I get it to play normally? It's like it's stuck on try me mode and only plays for twenty seconds, voice activation doesn't work. I cannot locate the manual.

Q: Does this lamb actually work? I had to return the first one because it wouldn’t work at all and now the second one has to have the batteries replaced every other day or it sounds frightening.

When I took the lamb out of the box it wouldn’t play so I opened it to check the batteries and they looked old and used rust was everywhere including battery acid after I changed the batteries it seems to be working okay my only issue is after the heartbeats over and my baby cries to activate it it plays music instead of the heartbeat

The sounds seems to be broken or from what I hear seems to be a problem.. whether you put in new batteries or use the try ne or not. IT DOES PLAY A COUPOE OD SECONDS AND THEN.. STOPS .. try taking the new batteries out and back in.. try me on or OFFF. Try everything.. those who think other wise didn’t get a defective lamb!!! I am going to get one more and HOpe it’s not a. Problem!! It is a soft lamb. Very nice to hold. But the ease of use is a no no..

Everything the reviews said, was correct. The batteries didn’t work upon purchase, I opened the battery packet to replace the batteries, battery acid was everywhere. And even still after replacing the batteries, the sound quality was horrible.

The on/off switch is for the try me store mode only! Flipping it into the on position will put it in try me mode and it will not work for longer than a few seconds at a time. Put it in the off position for full functionality. Press the buttons and adjust the volume while in the off position in order to get it to work fully. And then if you want it “off,” turn the volume dial down. It also automatically shuts off after a while.

Couldn’t even use it. It wasn’t turning on so I wanted to change the batteries. Battery acid had corroded and leaked so I couldn’t even open the battery cover piece. Horrible and dangerous product.

Love crying activation button. My daughter loves it, she has a hard time falling asleep during night, but this soothing lamb was a lifesaver for us, it really does work and sooth my baby girl to sleep and whenever she cries the sound will activate. It is prefect for baby shower gift, highly recommend it.

I love that it’s completely operated on the sheep itself so I don’t need an app or to use my phone. It has multiple white noise and music to choose from depending on what your baby likes plus you can control the volume. I like that it’s sound activated but my only issue is the sensitivity to sound because it starts playing for any sound/noise in the room during the day so I keep that turned off. Also great for on the go, I just strap it to my stroller or baby’s car seat. Would also make for a perfect baby shower gift

I have really enjoyed this lamb. It's giving me a little time back in my day by helping soothe my baby back to sleep. Con: reacts to all noise so you have to turn it off when not using it and it cycles through songs a little too fast which doesn't always give enough time for baby to settle.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love how soft this plush is, but honestly am not sure how much I love the actual functionality of the toy, which is the main reason I was interested in this product. When I first unboxed it, it started singing without any crylike sounds around. I thought maybe I accidentally pressed the buttons in the back, but nope. Sometimes it spontaneously sings on its own and sometimes won't recognize when the baby is crying until the cries are loud. We all know once a baby goes into full on cry mode, no melody is going to stop it... I also hate how short the melodies are. They cut off midsole and then cycle to the next track. I do like the volume control function a lot, but I think the nature sounds were quieter than a few of the songs so I'd find myself adjusting that. I also wish I could just make it only cycle through the melodies or only the white noise, I don't think baby or I cares for the nature sounds much. Maybe baby will love this just as a plushie later, but for now it's just an accessory on the crib that I can take or leave.

Baby seems to enjoy the songs and I like that we can take the music unit completely out if we want.

Dangerous!! The switch was messed up so “off” was really “on” and it wouldn’t stop playing for hours. I came home and noticed it wouldn’t turn on so I went to change the batteries and there was a puddle of acid from the corroded batteries! So so dangerous and scary. This clearly has happened multiple times (see other reviews) the company should really do something before someone gets hurt.

Works great, but those of you who are saying that the lamb songs only works for a couple of seconds, you’re playing the demo. Simply turn it off and push for the sound button and it’ll play the sounds or the music for 20 minutes. It’s that simple. I’ve had mine for 3 years and expecting my second girl and it still works just as I got it.

We bought this for our brand new grandbaby and wanted to put fresh batteries in it because it wasn't working. When we changed out the batteries with new ones it started sparking. i was in complete shock and thank God this did not happen in the possession of the baby. The batteries ended up being extremely hot when we took them out. i would not recommend nor would i even think about buying a second one/
