I have been using DHEA since my hysterectomy back in 2008. The Swanson brand is the best and I have been using it for about 8 years now. I have tried many other brands. The Swanson quality is great. *In my opinion: the optimal way to take this is with protein.

I have taken dhea for a number of years. I read an article that explained that dhea can be used in the body to make hormones like adrenaline, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Our body’s can decide what needs a boost and can use the dhea as a building block. I find it seems to improve my overall energy and stamina.

I used to get DHEA in a hormone gel that I applied topically until my doctor recommended that I was not absorbing it that way. Now I take it in this pill form which is very convenient and economical.
