Swingline Optima 40 Compact Stapler Half Strip 40-Sheet Capacity Black/Silver/Orange 87842

Out of a group of 8 people, the push button to release the front-loading staple tray was pulled off instead of pushed. The average person thinks the top is access to the tray. The spring was found the first time, not the second. And, on the second, the one of the vertical plastic piece that hold the button in its track broke and the spring got lost. Unless Swingline can send the replacement, it's garbage now.

Great stapler!

This is a GREAT stapler. I never do reviews, but this is really such a great product I had to share. It easily staples through a stack of papers that my typical stapler couldn’t do. It says 40 pages, and maybe it could do a little more. It’s smaller than a typical stapler, but works better.

This easily staples the claimed number of pages but you must use the S.F.3 staples to get maximum capacity. The stapler is also easy to handle. BTW...I am NOT an employee or paid reviewer.

Small but mighty. It has no problems going through my stack of end of month paper work that leaves, barely, an 1/8 inch of staple to fold over. Little effort is needed and it's compact size does not take up a lot of space on my desk.

Nice stapler, but very deceptive. Based off of the photos on the website, I thought I was purchasing a standard sized stapler. You should definitely add the word "mini" to the headline; especially for the price. Really thought I was getting a great deal.

This awesome stapler can easily staple through a thick stack of paper, as described. I love it and would highly recommend it to anyone who has had trouble stapling through thicker piles of paper with other staplers.

I was in need of a stapler that was capable of going through 20+ sheets of paper and this stapler does the job without a hitch. Its easy to load, fits perfectly in your hand, and staples through 20+ sheets with little effort. I have stapled through up to 40 sheets with no problem. I havent tried more than that, but I think most users wouldnt have more than that anyways. I wish I would have gotten this stapler earlier. If you are looking for a great stapler, this is it.

I received a free sample of this stapler in exchange for my honest review. The Optima Compact Desktop has been a great addition to my desk tools. Overall I love this product. It is very durable and lightweight. So far with constant daily use it has not had a jam or issue nor does it show any signs of wear. In fact, while I use this product primarily for work, my children ages 3 to 12 have used it on occasion and have had no trouble. It is easy enough for every member of our family to staple with no effort. I have regularly stapled 15 sheets of paper or more and this stapler has done a fine job with no effort on my part. In my opinion this stapler makes a nice addition for office work, student work or just everyday stapling needs. I am very happy with this stapler.

I received this product as a free sample in exchange for agreeing to write a review. The Optima 40 Compact Desktop Stapler appears to so far be a pretty good product. I believe I will have to use it a little while longer to be totally sure of it's capabilities. I do love the ergonomic design. It makes it super easy to handle and work with. It does appear to be very durable. I have not had any jams so far and I have been using it quite a bit. So far it is living up to it's expectations! I would definitely recommend to others.

I've never left a review before on a product, but I was reading through them and saw quite a few negative ones so I thought I would share my experience. I do paperwork all day at work and the stapler I had was old and unreliable, only worked on a few sheets, anything more than 10 sheets was a struggle, and some paperwork has 30+ sheets. I was sick of having to get up and go to the back to use the large capacity stapler so I looked around and saw this product on Amazon for a very good price and thought I would give it a try. I was more than satisfied with what I got. I have never had a problem with it jamming, or getting stuck and having to pry open. I no longer restaple anything or get up and use the large capacity stapler. I know I didn't purchase it directly from swingline, rather directly from Amazon, but this product has been excellent nonetheless. I purchased this back in early January and use it countless times a day, even endured a long and hectic tax season, and haven't had any problems. I would like to get one for everyone else in the office, just wish I could get it for that same price :) Overall this is a great product and I couldn't be more satisfied with it!

This stapler sees a lot of action at my workplace and it always performs reliably. I joke that this single device has decreased my work stress immeasurably due to the fact that I don't need to waste my precious time with stapler jams and other issues pertaining to sub-par staplers. This item is a gem and I am thankful for it.

I would like to commend Swingline's customer service team! I just received our replacement Swingline Ortima 40 stapler and look forward to putting it to use in our next academic semester. The students really depend on a good stapler for their papers. I know this one will be good simply because the company is interested in continuously improving its product through customer feed back. They listened to our issues and asked for the stapler to be sent back to them so that they could see what failed...while they at the same time provided a newer one. Swingline products and service is great!!
