Worked great then just as the warrenty runs out it quits. Er1 code. Really disappointing since i took really good care of it The thing still looks brand new i was hoping it would last

Err 1 shows two possible issues, reversed polarity, or electrical source issue. Cables connected red to positive and black to negative. I tried several different receptacles hoping it was my issue but it wasn't, simply wont work. Disappointing.

Wanted a portable unit. This I think has to stay plugged in. I had only a picture book for directions. Once plugged in for charging only error 1 flashing the entire time. Unplugged only blank screen. Mode button didn't do anything plugged or unplugged. This will be returned.
I just Used it Again Today and it Works Great!

My 1997 Ford Ranger XL is still alive after 315,000 miles. Original engine and most all other parts. I just can't give it up. The Sylvania 8 A Charger has helped over the past fall and this winter to keep the truck running and going even with some mechanical problems. These problems are almost all solved and fixed and the truck is going to keep going--another 23 years 'til 50yrs. old. Should make it. The charger also desulfates the batter and maintains the charge after it gets fully charged. -10 degrees F and the truck made it with the charger. The charger brings the truck's Lead Acid battery up to 12.79Volts as fully charged and keeps it there.
Works Great on My Old 1997 Ford Ranger.

Not quite sure why the other reviews are so negative. I have used this charger since Nov. last year and throughout the winter and it is keeping my truck running even though it has some mechanical issues that need fixed. The battery drains since last September it seems every 3rd day if it sits that long without being started. It never used to do this. The truck got its full "tune up" to get it ready for the winter but it has had some other issues. The ignition coils going bad but there are no fault codes--anyway as the truck is being brought back to health the battery charger is maintaining the battery while plugged in just fine. Up to 12.79 volts on my lead acid battery. If left uncharged for days the voltage can drop to 12.3 volts after about 1 week and when the temps. drop below freezing and then below 20 degrees F and then even below zero, the battery really struggles even though it is brand new. So, I keep the battery warm while the temps. are below 20 and keep the charger plugged in and the truck will start and run even with some issues--PCM probably needs changed. Anyway, the truck is making it through the winter parked outdoors in the weather. Without the charger the truck would be inoperable until the spring thaw.

I store seasonal construction equipment. I purchased the 8 amp units. We just replaced expensive batteries in our trucks. The trucks trickle out for relays etc and will naturally run the battery's down over the winter. I gave these units one job, I wasn't even asking them to charge the battery only keep a new battery full. It failed miserably and my new batterys drianed down to 0 v and are now junk!

I bought this charger to keep my RV camper battery charged…The manual is totally useless. I will definitely be returning it.
My optima has 11v and this charger won't charge it at all

Garbage, complete waste of money. Wont even charge my optima battery with 11v says error, other charger worked on it but this one won't, highly disappointed to say least. Says can charge battery's down to 1.5v 🤣 🤣 ya right. And on the 8 amp box its says it does motorcycle batteries but on instructions has no spot or in programming for a motorcycle battery. Very misleading the way they say this works when it actually does not. Complete waste of 60 plus bucks
