If this wasn't on sale when I purchased it, I would have returned it. The original price point is way too expensive for how cheap the carpet/fabric is on the stairs. You can practically pull clumps off, and when my cat scratches at it, his paws come away encased in fuzz. But I got it for $50 bucks. It is quite sturdy and the perfect height for our bed. Our senior cat used it on day 1. So worth it right there. Eventually I'll probably recover it with rope and better carpet.
