I am sharing this review to help others avoid the extensive troubleshooting I had to go through. Unfortunately, the Targus support team seems unaware that there are two versions of the Targus ACB10US1, and my attempts to contact them have gone unanswered. It appears they do not maintain a revision history or track engineering changes, which could have prevented the confusion surrounding this product. Here’s what I discovered: The SKU# ACB10US1-72BL with Model# ACB75B uses a Realtek chipset. I was able to locate the block diagram for the ACB75B online, confirming that this version includes the RTL8761BUV, a Realtek Bluetooth 5.0 dual-mode controller chip. This finding aligns with my testing results for the ACB75B. On the other hand, the older version, SKU# ACB10US1-71BL with Model# ACB75A, uses a Broadcom chipset. The drivers available on the Targus product page are designed for the Broadcom chipset. Therefore, if you have the Realtek version, these drivers will not work, and you will need to obtain the correct Realtek drivers from a third-party source. Adding to the frustration, Targus support was only able to provide general troubleshooting advice that was not related to the main issue—the change in chipset. This is a significant oversight because the change in chipset also necessitates a complete change in drivers, which was not addressed by their support team.

What should have taken 2 minutes to install took 2 days because the instructions in the product are WRONG! I'm hoping the adapter performs better than the installation, but you haven't left me with much confidence. If you purchase this adapter, please read these reviews. Information in the reviews got me what I needed to install the software correctly. Not impressed Targus!

Utter crap. My windows 10 desktop recognizes the device, but I have 3 separate headphones that have no issues connecting to my laptop, my TV and my phone but won't connect with this device. Downloaded the driver from their site and it can't even find the device, remaining stuck on the first step.

I bought this a couple of months ago, but couldn't get it to work. Didn't try uninstalling and reinstalling as I was distracted by other priorities. Recently went back to it to get bluetooth on my Dell desktop under Windows 10. Never got it to work. I don't recommend.

Although, with Windows 10 there should be no need to update or install any drivers there are times that it may be needed. I wanted to use my Bose wireless headphones with my computer, but didn't have a bluetooth card. Dongle to the rescue! Nope. Paired with my headphone, but every single time I try to listen to anything on my computer, I get a second of sound, then a second of silence, then a second of sound, then a second of silence ... over and over and over. I reloaded the drivers, checked the usb ports, made sure my brand new Bose headphones were working on another device, restarted, and a second of sound, then a second of silence, then a second of sound, then a second of silence. I'm going to call their help line Monday, but for something that's supposed to be plug and play, this gizmo is a piece of garbage!

I have bough two of these and followed the directions. Specifically "do not connect the adapter to your computer until the software drivers are installed." this should be so easy to do. What a terrible product. Thought the first was faulty. Now ive wasted my money and they have profited off a non working product. The install of the bluetooth adapter will not recognize the micro usb adapter. Trash company.

In the 'Device Manager' it always states "Paired"...but never automatically connects. Even though it acknowledges my device is "Paired" it wont connect, even when I press connect. I always have to place my device in "Pairing" mode before it can be discovered and connected...and sometimes I have to do this multiple times before it connects. Tech support need to work on this!
