Q: is this table hard to assemble?

A: I enjoy assembling things like this and I would rate it as medium difficulty. The instructions are clear (except one wood dowel pic) and they should have used round holes for the drawer slides. It took me two hours and lots of open space.

Q: Is "Grey Washed" really a shade of brown? The pictures look light brown, but it's labeled as being "Grey Washed". I'm confused.

Received the desk yesterday that was ordered online. My husband started putting hardware on the various smaller pieces when he found that a major piece #2 (portion of desk drawer) was missing! Went back through box and nothing, gone. How can such an important piece not be checked and included in box??? Went back to Target and manager ordered another whole desk unit to be sent out. Which was great to correct the problem, BUT don't need another desk, just the ONE piece. Could anyone contact the maker and just get the piece? Apparently that was just too much trouble as it was a "third party" and Target has no control over their quality control. What a shame and what a waste for Target to take a loss on this. I imagine this happens more than it should. T0 Target decision makers- think twice about keeping on any third party that won't or can't run interference on such issues!

3 hours of assembly, 2 facetimes to my handy dad, and 1 mental breakdown later .... I have a desk! Lol. This is not as easy as it seems to put together. Please do yourself a favor and buy longer screws than what is provided. Additionally, they really could've invested a little more time into clearer instructions. All in all, it was a grueling process but I'm happy with the finished product.
Might need bigger screws than the ones provided, but solid desk.

I’m happy with the finished product, but I did have to go to the hardware store to buy some bigger screws. Some of the pre-drilled holes were bigger than the screws provided so I nearly threw in the towel because things weren’t coming together. Decided to persevere, buy bigger screws to see if that would solve the problem and it did. I got lucky, but this assembly almost got the best of me. Single ladies - you can do this yourself, I promise. If I can do it so can you. PS - unlike some of the other reviews, my draw is perfectly aligned.

This desk is a great size and height. I love the color. The only sad part is… the back of the table where the wooden “x” crosses broke. So it’s loose now being held by gravity. It would be great to get some extra supplies as well like the sticky pads to cover the nail holes. They lose adhesive. But these are things that can be fixed! So buy it! The drawer has plenty of space. I use it for school and meetings.

I bought this desk in grey for my son. I just finally got his bed and everything set up in his new room. The desk is a perfect size for him to do his homework. It is super sturdy. Built better than expected. It was easy to put together. I found other pieces that match perfectly too, Love it. Target really has stylish, well priced, quality furniture. I can always find something for everyone in my family.

I bought this, despite not being crazy about putting it together. But the instructions were very easy to follow. I have room on it for 2 monitors, a keyboard, portal, mouse and lamp. Also space enough to keep notes. The drawer has lots of room.

Desk feels really sturdy and is really pretty! I love the gray toned color (much more gray than the picture!). A few things to note: It was not the easiest to put together, however the instructions are very clear and having a helper is definitely good. Pay attention to the height - it's a bit tall but the chair gap doesn't allow for much room, so you can't really cross your legs.

I bought this desk because it fit very well with all my other decor. Right as I opened it, it was chipped a little on one side but it didn’t bother me because it’s such a small area where it got damaged. When I inspected the damaged area, I saw that the paper coating on the desk got torn. So the desk is layered with a texture paper coating to make it look like real wood. Usually I wouldn’t care but for this price, I would expect better quality. I would only recommend this desk if it was priced for around $100. Other than that, the assembly was super easy. It says in the manual that two people are needed to assemble it but I did it all myself and it took two hours. Only thing I would watch out for is the quality of screws that are given with this desk. I snapped one because I put too much pressure on it with the screw driver, not only that, the wooden dowels that were given with this desk don’t sit snug in the holes that were made for them (glue is provided to glue the dowels in but it’s cheap quality elmer’s glue). I would recommend using your own wood glue for these dowels.

This is a nice rustic desk that overall is study. The desk top "looks" like a granite but certainly is not. For the price it does the job. I just need to find a chair that complements the desk. It cam in many parts and will take a while to put together. The top corner was slightly peeled (remember it's not granite!) but since we tend to keep so much stuff on the desk it won't be noticed.

There’s no way to put all the parts together if the wood is so easy to broken and the screws don’t match the size of the holes. My husband tried very hard to make it stable but it won’t be. See the wood pieces and the screws. We will return it to store tomorrow. I should have noticed other buyers comments earlier because there IS the same problem with the pieces in the back of the desk. Don’t buy it’s totally a waste of everyone’s time.

As in the title, knowing what I know now, I would have never purchased this desk. It is very nice looking but having to assemble was terrible. Directions are not very clear and the pictures are strange when you look to help give any help. It's on the pricey side too for quality.
