A: Yes. It takes a 1.5V button battery.

Q: My thermometer display had been showing Fahrenheit then all of a sudden started displaying the temp in Celsius. Is there any way to switch it back to Fahrenheit?

Q: Can this thermometer be left in a turkey while cooking?
A: Digital thermometers are not meant to be left in food during cooking. The plastic and electronic components could be damaged with excessive heat.

Q: Does it come with intructions on what temperature the different kinds of meat should be cooked at and if you want it at rare med well done?

Q: Can this thermometer be used as a candy thermometer
A: I would have to say, “no”. I would also not recommend this thearmometer. It’s very cheap. I don’t even have it anymore because it broke. I would recommend a larger fryer/candy thermometer for making candy. You will want one that clios to the side of the pan.
