Q: You talk about using it for a terrarium, how much weight can each glass shelf hold?

A: Each shelf can support up to 30 pounds and the top can support up to 40 pounds. While this item can be used as a plant terrarium, we do not recommend using this item as a live animal enclosure. Thanks for your question, and have a great day.

All the pieces to this set came so scratched up. Part of its grey/aluminum and some black. Not to mention the pieces where labeled wrong so I had to take apart a few times to find the right spots. Over all it’s an okay piece but I expected way more for the price of this cabinet. I got this delivered to my home and already opened all the boxes and I don’t have a target near me so I just decided to keep it. Otherwise I would have returned..

Not worth it

This cabinet is not worth the frustration. We had to assemble it twice due to the pieces not clearly stating which side is the front and two of the legs being mis numbered. We spent an hour trying to align the front doors. There was no way to get them to fit and open fully so the doors only open halfway. Also the door glass doesn’t line up flush. One sticks out farther than the other.

This is a nice cabinet, perfect for our Funko collection. The finish on ours is slightly "antiqued" with the silver, but it's not obnoxious. You could easily repaint if it really bothers you. Assembly might be a bit confusing if you're not used to building your own furniture, but ours came together perfectly once we studied the pieces. If you start with the leg pieces in the right locations you should have no trouble. As you add the shelf frames you may need to squeeze the legs a bit to get all of the screws in. If you have the screws in tight you may need to loosen one or two for the top (and final) piece to fall into place - just make sure to re-tighten once it pops in. HELPFUL HINTS: LEGS: 1) make sure the tabs supporting the middle shelf are oriented along the length of the cabinet - not the sides - otherwise the middle shelf won't fit; 2) the front legs have one channel (for the side glass panel) - the back legs have two (one for the back panel and one for the side). DOORS: to align the doors just slide the glass within the hinges - this allows you to easily adjust how the doors line up with each other and along the cabinet itself. It's a shame this cabinet has some poor reviews due to the quality of the instructions, but we're very happy with it - just what we were looking for.

This case offers a unique design. It reminds me of when I worked retail in college and we used glass cases somewhat like this to display small leather goods. When I found this by accident on the Target website shortly before Christmas, I had to have it. I was afraid that the glass would be on the thin side but, on the plus side, the glass seems solid enough that it won't crack or break easily. (That said, a house full of rambunctious kids or pets could prove to be an exception.) Like other reviewers, my spouse worked quite a long time to put the frame together only to appreciate after the fact that it did not contain the mount points (holes) for the double glass doors. Built without the doors, it's a three-sided — open faced — display cabinet. A phone call to the company that manufacturers this product was all it took to get a replacement frame shipped out. I was concerned the replacement would have the same issue but fortunately it arrived without the same issue. Yes, it's an inconvenience to have to dissemble the product and redo it. But once you assemble it once, you can repeat the process without the headaches of the first go-around. Another plus? The replacement frame, despite the Christmas holiday, was shipped out quickly. The black and the silver "distressing" isn't quite a fit for my decor so I would suggest the manufacturer offer it in other color selections. Thanks to the fact that the frame is metal, however, it's nothing that some primer and a can of Rustoleum can't fix. Yes there were "issues" with the cabinet true to what others have reported. But in my opinion, the uniqueness of this product made it worth my while to put up with the setbacks.

I would rate five stars if it didn't have the weird silver paint streaks applied over the black (their effort at faux finish). I took off a star because I took time to spray paint the metal pieces black prior to assembly - not difficult since the pieces are so basic, and it ends up looking like a much higher quality piece without the bizarre silver sloshed generously all over every surface. No one is going to believe this is an antique piece and the silver paint is so heavy handed, so I have no idea why anyone thought that rustic faux finish was a good idea. Perhaps if there was a little restraint and it was only on the edges, but this thing was ASSAULTED with a silver paint brush, like someone's toddler went after it. But I digress. In all of the internet, Target had the best price on this piece during black Friday week, which really couldn't be beat for something that dresses up so well and is nothing but metal and a LOT of glass. I assembled it almost completely by myself with no issues, but found it much easier to get the doors hung straight when I had another set of hands.

i bought 3 so far, weeks apart.... i waited for when they were on sale too. they aren't perfect, you get what you pay for but they work great for what i needed them for, to keep my cats out of cabinets 50 year old woman put them together herself in a short amount of time except for the doors - they were and are a pain. its also like they are an eighth inch too long if i don't open cabinet much they stay but if i open them a few dozen times they sag. so the last 2 i waited until all set up before putting on the doors. i like the distressed black n silver look. could probably paint them a different color if needed. i lucked out and nothing was broken and no parts were missing in all 3 shipments

I see a few other reviews for this product stating it was incorrectly made and the pieces don't fit- I can see what made them say so, for a while I was convinced that was the case, but eventually I did make it work. It's not that the pieces are incorrectly cut- the instructions are incorrectly printed. Following them to a T, the cabinet never worked. When I went rogue I was able to finally assemble it via trial and error, but not before a night of worry over whether I'd have to somehow get 100lbs back into the box, into my 2 door Honda and into Target in person to return it. Also, the instructions I received had NO INFO AT ALL about the doors. It was like the doors didn't exist. Luckily I was able to figure out how to assemble them myself. The cabinet itself is sturdy and attractive if you can actually navigate the mine field of actually assembling it. But for the price, you can probably do better. I may not ever order another piece of furniture from Target if this is what it puts me through. Just trust me when I say you need to be prepared for some trial and error. SEI Furniture, fire your graphic designer. They can't make instructional diagrams.

If I could give it zero stars I would. The piece is not well made, nor well painted. The silver metal shines through in weird places and the black paint is inadequate. It also looks like someone beat it before boxing it. If that is the "silver distressing," it is pretty weird. The holes are not well drilled for the screws. The directions are poorly drafted and not printed well. This is the first piece of furniture I purchased from Target and may well be my last. I would return it but I don't think I could get it in my car. All in all a very big disappointment. Do not buy this. Trust me. Good idea for a piece, bad execution. Surprised Target would continue to stock it.

The product was of such poor quality, it could not be assembled. I liked it so much that I exchanged the first one. One side of the shelving was wider than the other so the glass panels did not fit. The second one could not be put together because there were no screw holes where they needed to be.

I was able to put this together by myself. It took about a week because I needed breaks in between putting the frame together, than the shelves and finally the doors.
