About the Book
"Even with her thriving quilt shop and baby-on-the-way, Colorado Amish quiltmaker Esther Kiem always has time for matchmaking even when it comes to her frustratingly exacting distant cousin!"--Book Synopsis
Even with her thriving quilt shop and baby-on-the-way, Colorado Amish quiltmaker Esther Kiem always has time for matchmaking--even when it comes to her frustratingly exacting distant cousin! Infused with her signature humor and saturated with heart, award-winning, USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Beckstrand blends quilting, mischief, and matchmaking for the fifth Amish Quiltmaker romance--perfect for fans of Amy Clipston, Wanda Brunstetter, and Linda Byler. Esther's distant cousin, widower Menno Eicher, needs to be hard-headed and practical. Swamped by family and farm responsibilities, he must find the perfect wife as quickly as possible, so he's shown up in Colorado--with "finding a wife" on his To-Do list! Esther's community has many women who could match his ever-growing requirements. Still, after a chance meeting, Menno keeps coming back to baker Joanna Yoder. Hard-working, honest, and forthright, she's distracting Menno from his search, opening his heart--yet refuses to believe he's falling hopelessly in love with her . . . Happily busy inventing and selling delicious desserts, Joanna has no time for someone as ridiculously exacting as Menno. After all, what sort of man thinks choosing a wife is like picking a pie at the general store? But she soon sees the surprisingly kind heart, doting father, and understanding man beneath his hard-to-please ways. With faith and genuine love, might the few things they have in common overcome the differences between them--and prove precious enough to risk a future together?Review Quotes

The Amish Quiltmaker’s Uninvited Guest by Jennifer Beckstrand is a heartwarming and cute story. I enjoyed Menno and Joanna’s story. I admit, though, that it took me time to warm up to Menno. I am surprised that Menno managed to find someone to marry him the first time around. I like the author’s writing style. It makes the story easy to read. I also like that we get to see things from Joanna and Menno’s point of view. While The Amish Quiltmaker’s Uninvited Guest is the fifth book in The Amish Quiltmaker series, it can be read as a standalone. I laughed often while reading (which had my mother giving me looks plus I woke her up once or twice). The Amish Quiltmaker’s Uninvited Guest is a story about mistakes, love, second chances, humor, and faith. I will never look at a can of corn the same way again. The Amish Quiltmaker’s Uninvited Guest an entertaining tale about a matrimonial mission, galloping goats, an adorable dog, sympathetic sisters, appetizing fry pies, a quilt quandary, and a joyful journey.
Just as good as the others in the series!

My Review: If you’ve read Jennifer’s other books in this series that all started with Amish quilter Esther Kiem, a delightfully-quirky woman who keeps a firm hand on her temper by throwing apricots against her house, you’ll be thrilled to find this new addition to Esther’s story world. Esther has a widowed cousin, Menno Eicher, whose bishop has told him that now that his time of mourning his late wife is over - it’s time to find another one! So Menno heads to Colorado to stay with Esther and her husband while he crosses that little task off his “to do” list. Sadly for Menno, the single Amish ladies in town are not amused at his pragmatic way of wife-hunting; especially not baker Joanna Yoder, who thinks the whole thing is ludicrous; after all, what woman with an ounce of self-respect wants to be chosen like a can of corn? Interchangeable with any other can of corn - or potential wife! Despite their differences, Joanna and Menno find themselves mutually attracted — and Joanna simply loves Menno’s two sweet daughters. But will this be enough for her to compete with the other “cans of corn” Menno is considering to become the second Mrs. Eicher? Does she even want to?
