It is a cute story that covers the basics of good manners. We read it regularly. My husband and I refer to it when gently reminding our 3 yo to remember his good manners.

I think the book, The Berenstain Bears Forget Their Manners is a good way to teach kids to use their manners or else they'll have to face the penalties. In the book Mama Bear is fed up with the cubs' manners also Papa Bears and gets a big piece of cardboard. She writes "The Bear Family's Manners List" I think, and puts Manners and Penalties. The cubs' manners really inprove but Papa Bears manners are the same maybe even worse! The cubs try to act extra polite so they can make Mama Bear fed up and get rid of the list. But it doesn't work and makes mama bear more inpressed. After a while all the bears manners were Improved. It makes children think "If mom or dad see us don't use are manners we may be the ones doing all the cleaning!!" and the kids may start listening! I recommend every Berenstain Bear Books to every kid because it teaches them new stuff!
