Q: Our bed frame is a stout wood box w/storage drawers under it. The mattress sits directly on a smooth, firm plywood base the size as the mattress. Does this meet the manufacturer's recommendations?

A: Hi there, Olivia from Casper here. We do not suggest using a traditional box spring as it does not provide the proper support for our mattresses and could potentially cause sagging over time, which we definitely do not want! While it is not required to use a Casper foundation we suggest one like it that provides slats that are no more than 4" apart.

I also bought the water proof cover it worked fine until a month ago where my daughter peed the bed and it went through. For the price that I paid for it should have lasted at least the year or a little more. I don’t recommend the waterproof cover!

I wanted to like this but after 2 months I’m not happy. Wake up every morning aching, sleeping in my couch feels better. I feel like I have to settle for my purchase because I don’t want to be wasteful, not knowing what happens to used mattresses besides it landing in dumpster. I’ll have to buy a topper unfortunately.

I liked our previous bed, but was hoping for "something better" in a change since things can be improved. Got the Casper Original Hybrid after some research (there is not one in a store close to us) and a a couple of conversations with Casper staff. Opened it, let it sit for 2 days and then tried it. We were underwhelmed. Contacted Casper and they suggested letting is sit a couple more days before deciding it's not great. That did it! It's comfortable, sleeps cool, is supportive, has prefect firmness for us, and my wife woke up with fewer morning aches this time. There is a new version of this that came out just a few weeks after we purchased this one. It includes somewhat different padding, but is similar otherwise, Casper tells me. We could still return this one, but want to keep it as it's working out very well. We are pleased with this, even after liking our old bed.

Unboxing experience: Although we figured it out on our own, we later found the directions at the bottom of the box. Suggest you put them at the top. We like the Casper mattress better than our previous box spring one. Yes, I would recommend a Casper mattress to a friend.

Our previous mattress, Select Comfort, was quite old and had begun to sag. We decided to try the Casper Hybrid mattress based upon the recommendation of a friend. The box was pretty heavy. It was interesting getting the mattress to unfurl. We allowed it to expand for 3 days while we slept in the spare bedroom. The mattress had an odor, but not overpowering. My husband remarked that the mattress is firm and he was sleeping "on" it and not "in" it. As I wrote, our previous mattress sagged. What we have not found is any cooling from the mattress. I'm usually comfortable in bed, but my husband is a "hot" sleeper. I would recommend this mattress.
