@kcjreads •The Dead Romantics, By: Ashley Poston ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ I ALMOST didn’t finish this one. Oh man, it took a lot for me to keep going-like A LOT, A LOT…..until I finally got about 208ish pages in. It FINALLY started picking up & even though I predicted basically entire ending, it still got me pretty choked up! I did love the ending a lot, & I think I’d even say it was worth it to read it✨ The first 2/3 of the book, I’d honestly rate about 1-2/5. The last 1/3 of the book redeemed itself, I’d rate that about a 4/5. So I’m gunna go with a 3.5/5⭐️ on this one. I completely loved the idea of this cute little romance, it was very unique! & I loved the fact that Florence & her Dad shared the ability of being able to communicate with the dead. The book obviously has to do with grief & loss. I thought that it was handled so well in this book, in such a unique light. I think after reading, more people would have a much more different aspect on death & mourning. The book gave a very different emotional side to it, & could surprisingly be pretty eye-opening & heartwarming. Also, I loved Benji’s character😍🔥 “Florence is the ghostwriter for one of the most prolific romance authors in the industry, but after a terrible breakup, she no longer believes in love. It’s as good as dead. When her new editor, a too-handsome mountain of a man, won’t give her an extension on her book deadline, Florence prepares to kiss her career goodbye. But then she gets a phone call about her father that she never wanted to receive, & she must return home for the first time in a decade. For ten years, she’s run from the town that never understood her, & even though she misses her eccentric, loving family & their funeral parlor, she can’t bring herself to stay. Until she finds a ghost standing at the funeral parlor’s front door, just as infuriatingly handsome as ever, & he’s just as confused about why he’s there as she is. Romance is most certainly dead, but so is her new editor, & his unfinished business will have her second-guessing everything she’s ever known about love stories. #thedeadromantics #ashleyposton #romancebooks #deathanddying #bookreview #bookrecommendations #booktok

@soozn79 🍂🕸️It’s Fall, Y’all 🍂🕸️ TBR/To Do lists rarely go well for me. 😂 But here’s at least a small stack of, let’s just call them, OPTIONS for the upcoming spooky season. I definitely want to read My Roommate is a Vampire, and I’ve heard great things about Undertaking so I’m hoping I can get to that one as well in the next few weeks. And maybe Masters of Death? And The Honeys? Weyward? Idk. We’ll see how it goes. 🤷🏻♀️ What’s your favorite fall/Halloween decoration? 🎃🧛🏼♂️🕷️👻🦇🕸️ (Also, idk if you can make it out but that little Nightshade candle says it is “scented with ghost essence” 😂 #targetfind) #spookyszn #tbrpile #bookstack #spookybookstack #itsfall

Description
Book Synopsis
A disillusioned millennial ghostwriter who, quite literally, has some ghosts of her own, has to find her way back home in this sparkling adult debut from national bestselling author Ashley Poston. Florence Day is the ghostwriter for one of the most prolific romance authors in the industry, and she has a problem--after a terrible breakup, she no longer believes in love. It's as good as dead. When her new editor, a too-handsome mountain of a man, won't give her an extension on her book deadline, Florence prepares to kiss her career goodbye. But then she gets a phone call she never wanted to receive, and she must return home for the first time in a decade to help her family bury her beloved father. For ten years, she's run from the town that never understood her, and even though she misses the sound of a warm Southern night and her eccentric, loving family and their funeral parlor, she can't bring herself to stay. Even with her father gone, it feels like nothing in this town has changed. And she hates it. Until she finds a ghost standing at the funeral parlor's front door, just as broad and infuriatingly handsome as ever, and he's just as confused about why he's there as she is. Romance is most certainly dead . . . but so is her new editor, and his unfinished business will have her second-guessing everything she's ever known about love stories.Review Quotes
"I LOVED this book. A beautiful, poignant story, full of beautiful, poignant characters. Florence is exactly the type of lovable, endearing, relatable lead I want to fall for, and her journey through learning how to love again had me squealing, sighing, laughing. The Dead Romnatics is like a beautifully crafted puzzle: at the end all the pieces fall perfectly into place, and the picture that they form is at once touching, funny, breathtaking, hopeful, and dreamy."
--Ali Hazelwood, New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis The Dead Romantics was an absolute and unexpected delight. Voicy and quirky and fun; the pages will probably sparkle (but with black glitter).
--Christina Lauren, New York Times bestselling author of The Unhoneymooners The Dead Romantics takes so many things I love--quirky heroines, found families, cozy small towns, fanfics, GHOSTS (!!!)--and gives them all a fresh, fun, thoroughly modern spin. This is truly a RomCom to die for!
--Rachel Hawkins, New York Times bestselling author of Reckless Girls "This book made me fall in love, broke my heart then reassembled it at least twice, and left me swooning. A hauntingly romantic, hilariously heartwarming story. Ashley Poston is the real deal."
--Gwenda Bond, New York Times bestselling author of Not Your Average Hot Guy
