About the Book
Sixteen-year-old Emilie, stuck in a cosmic Groundhog/Valentine's Day nightmare where she discovers her family is splitting up and her boyfriend is cheating on her, decides to embark upon The Day of No Consequences, but when her repetitive day suddenly ends, she must face the consequences of her actions.Book Synopsis
In this riotous young adult romp for fans of Recommended for You and A Cuban Girl's Guide to Tea and Tomorrow, a teen girl has the worst Valentine's Day ever--only to relive it over and over again. After living through a dumpster fire of a Valentine's Day, Emilie Hornby escapes to her grandmother's house for some comfort and a consolation pint of Ben & Jerry's. She passes out on the couch, but when she wakes up, she's back home in her own bed--and it's Valentine's Day all over again. And the next day? Another nightmare V-Day. Emilie is stuck in some sort of time loop nightmare that she can't wake up from as she re-watches her boyfriend, Josh, cheat on her day after day. In addition to Josh's recurring infidelity, Emilie can't get away from the enigmatic Nick, who she keeps running into--sometimes literally--in unfortunate ways. How many days can one girl passively watch her life go up in flames? And when something good starts to come out of these terrible days, what happens when the universe stops doling out do-overs?About the Author

Cute book! Would read again in February. The author made this "groundhog day" type situation not too repetitive which was good. Overall a fun and quick read.

Emilie Hornby has her life color coded and organized to perfection, her boyfriend checks off all of her boxes, and she is doing amazing in school with a bright future ahead of her. Underneath all of that is a bit of a rocky family, a broken home with parents who don't hide their resentment, and step-parents that make their opinions of Emilie clear. She does the best she can in the areas she can control, including exactly how her perfect Valentine's day will go. Nick Stark is a surly, broody, and quiet introvert that prefers to keep to himself. He shows up to class, avoids small talk, and does his work as he is asked. No stirring the pot, no kicking up dust, and absolutely no time-consuming relationships. Although he doesn’t know it, Nick keeps crossing paths with Emilie Hornby in very interesting ways. Perhaps Nick will learn a bit from his time with Emilie and rethink his wants and opinions. As a teenager, you may have life planned out and wish for time to move faster. Sometimes, wishes do come true, just maybe not how you expected them to. Emilie got a bit more than she wished for. After her hopes of a wonderful Valentine’s day were wrecked (iykyk) in multiple ways, she discovered she has been given another chance… and another… and another. No matter what she did, she kept waking up to the same old ringtone on the same old day. Classic Emilie made a new plan for each and every repeat, and we readers got to follow along for a wild ride. This book! Another fantastic YA Romance novel by Lynn Painter! I am typically a fan of time-loop novels and this one was done perfectly. Not a spoiler per se, but I want to mention that it was nice to have the “final day” start earlier than typically expected so readers were on the edge and questioning if the time loop was magically fixed or not. I found that a lot of details here and there had me excitedly connecting the dots and trying to guess what happened next. If you want to try out a time-warp read or need a quick and cozy filler read then this is a great option. No spice, a few curse words here and there, and a whole lot of cuteness.

A really sweet book, that deserves the hype. A few details of it are a little cheesy but it didn’t change my overall perception. The book came in great condition as well! Definitely a 5 star read :)
