It provides the perfect blend of educational information, practical, step-by-step advice, and encouragement to get you and your child through the inevitable hurdles that come along with potty training. She gives special consideration to personality traits of willful/free-spirited, anxious, and special needs children, and other special topics such as common setbacks and potty training away from home. Her approach to potty training focuses on relationship building with your child and positive reinforcement techniques that are consistent with best practices. This book is easy to read, practical, and a necessity for parents preparing to potty train." --Dr. Jennifer Rogers, Clinical Psychologist "Dr. Jazmine has outdone herself with this potty training book. As a mother of two-year-old twins, I have been wringing my hands at the idea of potty training both of them. Her book not only provides effective and doable ways to potty train, but also how to CONNECT with and PRAISE your children while doing it. Every time I thought 'I wonder if she's going to cover that?' she does! I cannot recommend this book enough for parents who are beginning their potty training journey." --Dr. Ashley Forrest, Clinical Psychologist "Not quite sure how to proceed with potty training? I skimmed a few other potty training books and this was by far my favorite. I really appreciate Dr. McCoy's approach- clear, straightforward, and non-judgemental. It's an easy read (which makes double-checking info in the midst of a poty training moment easy) but chock-full of helpful information for different personalities and situations. There are some cute illustrations throughout the book which my kid really latched onto and it helped him get excited for the process as he always wanted to read "the potty training book." This book helped me feel confident and helped our family get through potty training with no tears! Highly recommend as your primary resource.
Amazing book, quick read

I bought this on Kindle a few months after our daughter was born after following Dr. McCoy on social media and loving her approach to parenting and child development. This past Christmas break, our now 20 month old let us know she was ready to start. My husband and I read this book in a few hours and got ready. Three weeks later, our girl is having so much success. This book was key to taking away our anxiety and making us feel confident and excited about this process. Recommend it to any and all parents as Dr. McCoy provides info for parents of children with disabilities or different personalities, age ranges, etc.

This book has a lot of good info for a first time parent. My daughter(2 years + 4 months) did well with potty training with the method presented here. She has yet to poop in the potty but it's only been a few days. Hopefully that will come soon.
