Imagine Pippin (The Lord of the Rings) and Ripley (Alien) teaming up to save a child everyone wants killed. This is what the author wrestles with in this delightfully human endeavor where continual choices have to be made for what purpose, they don't really know until the end...We are left wanting more even as we are left shaken. I can hardly wait for the second installment! This book (191 pages) has a wonderful suspense that grabs the reader on the very first page. Wonderful pacing throughout; the storyline reads easily, yet, before you know it, you are a frog boiling in a pan of hot water!
