As a boater I'm usually a rum drinker, but was given this as a gift. We've enjoyed it immensely and I've bought this as gifts for several of my sailing friends. While not losing its Whiskey roots as a base, the smooth taste with a throughline hint of rum has made it a perfect addition to the on board "liquor locker". It's excellent at sunset with appetizers and friends on the water. But honestly, sipping it at home this winter has been pretty perfect as well...

I bought a bottle of the Glenlevet Caribbean Reserve for the holidays. It was absolutely delightful. The banana aroma was a surprise but very pleasant. In fact it’s now a favorite quality for me. A nice intro before the sweet sip. It’s not typical but a new favorite of mine and I need to get a new bottle soon.

This was given to me as a gift. The hint of Caribbean flavors makes it my favorite Glenlivet. I have forsaken my reliable 12 year old. I truly enjoy both!

I love it, but the price went up about 50% in the last couple years. Not sure it’s worth the additional cost.

A smooth drinking scotch considering it’s a single malt I am used to drinking blended whiskies because my family owned a scotch distillery in Leith Scotland in the 1920s - 1970s which produced what consumers report considered the “ best scotch in the world”
Not good. Not at all.

Glenlivet typically delivers, I truly enjoy multiple varieties of their aged offerings. Not this one however. This was just terrible. Nose has almost a chemical aroma that was missing depth, taste was thin and sharp, again missing depth and the complexity of a flavorful smooth single malt. The aftertaste is just awful. I tried this in a variety of ways, from neat to mixed, and what was really telling was when I mixed it with club soda, the result was so thin and watered down it was almost odd... Normally club soda for me is the mixer that reveals a scotch's complexity and flavor, this stuff basically diluted down to where there was nearly no flavor remaining. (keeping in mind same scotch to mixer ratio as any other scotch I would normally drink.) So to those who have enjoyed this, cheers, I'm not judging, but this one isn't for me.
Got this in a sample pack

a favorite, especially for a moderately priced scotch. recently brought over a bottle to a scotch-living friend and while he brought it out initially probably to be nice, it was the only bottle opened that night. a big thumbs up all around the table.

Getting hard to find. Are you still making this. It is excellent. Very smooth aftertaste. Has the notes of a very pricey whiskey at a reasonable price.

After having a dram and thinking about how it tasted. Brought thoughts of the rum drink I have on the beach in Grand Cayman. Its definitely a single malt scotch, but the slight sweet taste surprised me. It's well worth the price.
