The grittiness is from wax crystallization and we see with other competitive clean products. At body temperature, they should melt and the grittiness should dissipate.We hope this helps!

I really wanted to like this, especially for the price. I mostly like the ingredients. I can’t understand how this is marketed as an ointment but is incredibly gritty. It makes no sense to put something gritty on hurt or sensitive skin, such as chapped, dry, or eczema. It ticks me off every time I use it, but for $25 I’m going to use it. It kind of helps dry skin, but no more helpful than other lotions.

Young or old, anyone can benefit from this ointment. Shortly after getting it I had an abrasion on the corner of my mouth which kept getting irritated, I dabbed this on and it cleared up overnight. This magic balm protects and super charges healing with its soothing ingredients. I use this in place of petroleum jelly, anything you'd use it for I use this. Skincare slugging, lip balm, cuticle cream, I even used a dab to shape my brows when I couldn't find my clear brow gel. The grittiness dissolves when you work with it, a miniscule dab and voila! It works into skin excellently anywhere I need it.

I didn’t expect to love this as much as I did from first application. My eczema prone skin loves this stuff. Put it on some areas that were breaking out last night and today they’re much more smooth and calmer. I will see how this plays out long term but I really like this! It can be a bit gritty if you’re in a cold area and it’s in the tube but it melts beautifully once in your hands and warmed up. I love the smell of it too. Seems like this is what my skin was craving. Also used on some intimate itching from detergent irritation and I felt much better! I will definitely keep this on my list if I have a baby one day and need a diaper rash cream, I don’t mind paying more for a quality product.

Not a great formulation - it feels basically like hardened oil, so it's gritty feeling, but also melts with the heat of your skin and gets oily. It feels pretty gross, and just isn't at all what I was hoping for. If, like me, you're hunting for a replacement for the discontinued Vanicream Moisturizing Ointment, this isn't it.

If you’re hesitant about this ointment just buy it. My husband and I bought this based off reviews. We’ve tried everything even prescribed ointment from pediatrician. My 7 month old gets very red and raw from this heat even though we constantly change his diaper. In 2 days his redness was gone and kept it gone. We will be buying again!

My daughter has had diarrhea for the past two weeks and her bottom turned raw. I have tried previous honest company products on my last child and it worked great, so I wanted to give this particular product a try. I am so glad that I did. It is absolutely life saving for her. It’s soft, non-gritty and goes on with ease. She use to tense up during a diaper change but is relaxed and back to her happy self. It cleared half of her rash overnight. I will definitely be using this from here on out.

I have used this product for about 3 days now and I am LOVING it. My daughter suffers from eczema and a teething rash and we have tried dozens of creams to control flare ups. This has by far been one of my favorite products we used and had done wonders already! While I can agree with some reviews about an initial “gritty” feeling when first using the ointment, it does melt into the hands and doesn’t feel gritty on the skin. The product melts in nicely to the skin and doesn’t leave an icky residue. I’ve noticed it’s not as greasy as Vaseline or aquaphor which I like about it! It’s definitely worth keeping in your arsenal and I will be buying again.

I just bought this for myself today as an alternative for aquaphor. I use tretinoin and I really like how the ointment feels on my face after using tretinoin. It’s so hydrating. Another review said that it settles in the skin around 3 hours. That is true. Mine settles within 3hours

My 20 month old son has been teething and getting bad diarrea from it for almost 2 weeks straight. He developed a horrible diaper rash from all the wiping, I tried A&D ointment but he would start screaming and then I tried desitin but that also made him extremely uncomfortable. So I decided to try to find an option with no petroleum and no zinc. This product is a miracle, I put it on him last night before bed at 9pm and when he woke up this morning half of his rash was gone. He didn't cry when I put it on him and I can't believe how much better his rash is, he's back to being his goofy self. I will say though, I would recommend putting a thick layer on for overnight. It completely absorbed into his skin after 3 hours, I think because his skin was so dry. This is a 10/10 for me though!
