Book Synopsis
- INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER -The latest installment in the highly acclaimed, internationally bestselling Strike series finds Cormoran and Robin ensnared in another winding, wicked case. When frantic, disheveled Edie Ledwell appears in the office begging to speak to her, private detective Robin Ellacott doesn't know quite what to make of the situation. The cocreator of a popular cartoon, The Ink Black Heart, Edie is being persecuted by a mysterious online figure who goes by the pseudonym of Anomie. Edie is desperate to uncover Anomie's true identity. Robin decides that the agency can't help with this--and thinks nothing more of it until a few days later, when she reads the shocking news that Edie has been tasered and then murdered in Highgate Cemetery, the location of The Ink Black Heart. Robin and her business partner, Cormoran Strike, become drawn into the quest to uncover Anomie's true identity. But with a complex web of online aliases, business interests and family conflicts to navigate, Strike and Robin find themselves embroiled in a case that stretches their powers of deduction to the limits - and which threatens them in new and horrifying ways . . . A gripping, fiendishly clever mystery, The Ink Black Heart is a true tour-de-force.
Review Quotes
"The sixth and most complex novel yet in a unique series. . . The author does a masterly job of keeping all plot elements in play and in balance, and the complications only add to the satisfaction of the mystery's eventual solution."--Tom Nolan, The Wall Street Journal
About the Author
Robert Galbraith is a pseudonym for J.K. Rowling, bestselling author of the Harry Potter series and The Casual Vacancy. Rowling's original intention for writing under Galbraith was for the books to be judged on their own merit, and to establish Galbraith as a well-regarded name in crime in its own right. The Strike Novels have topped the national and international bestseller lists and the series has been adapted for television, produced by Brontë Film and Television.Dimensions (Overall): 8.2 Inches (H) x 5.5 Inches (W) x 1.8 Inches (D)

The novel arrived in good time we purchased a "new hard cover" since its a gift However the dust cover was torn on the bottom spine and bent on the top spine. There was only cushioning on the top of the book in the mailing box but none around the book or under it. Wanted it "Prestine" as a gift.
Highly recommend the series

I got hooked on the series a couple of years ago and Cormoran and Robin are as good as ever. Fans of the series won't be disappointed. Already looking forward to the next one

I will out of the gate award one star for the sheer waste of space of the style choice formatting. It reads like a student using formatting tricks to expand their page count to hit a teahers assignment requirement. If this were any other author an editor would not stand for this. the false "Twitter" posts read rather inauthentic and lacking any sense of the poster. I could not escape the sheer black and white "Good guy, mean guy" vibe that missed it'smark in providing any sort of deeper nuanced approach. It to me, feels like this was a half finished novel that needed a hook to see it out the door- developed or not..
Another excellent book for the series.

Another very enjoyable book in the series. It is well written and I didn't put it down. I only gave 4 stars because it is my least favorite of series. The mystery isn't as interesting as the others. I didn't really enjoy reading the chat room stuff either. I like solving the mysteries with the characters but this one got a bit confusing jumping from one suspect to the next. It's still a really good book and I can't wait till the next one.

Love this series, the writing is brilliant. Don’t be discourage by the negative reviews. They clearly are more reviewing a comment made in the media that was taken out of context. I can not wait for the tv series to catch up!

At least a quarter of the book is white space signifying spacing on online comment threads. It's pretty confusing and boring. The author included a ton of social media comment threads in the book, which really detracts from the story. Would not recommend buying this book unless you like paying to read pretend comment threads on pretend social media sites.
Not worth it.
