Q: Has this toy been tested to make sure that the wooden balls do not come off the elastic. I am afraid my baby well pull it off into his mouth

A: Hello Oaklen, the 100% solid rubberwood components of this toy have the balls on the ends fused to the dowel rods with a high-tension epoxy glue. It is so strong, that the wood would essentially have to break for these pieces to come apart. One of these important and reassuring tests the Skwish passes is the “Impact Test: Drop Test,” which states “no hazards shall result when the sample is subjected to the applicable impact as determined by age grade.” You may take comfort in knowing that Manhattan Toy has procedural oversight to ensure our products meet or exceed the arduous CPSIA regulations for children’s toys, which requires CPSC-approved third-party accredited laboratory testing. Thought I would update you with a more exacting reason. Appreciate your inquiry.

I love the Manhattan Toy Company toys but this toy was broken upon order pick up and shows it could very easily splinter and or hurt a child. I would stick to their plastic toys. This one doesn’t seem well put together.

Both my daughters loved this toy, always one of their preferred choices. Extremely engaging sight, sound and touch. It’s a bit faded but still looks amazing, almost 4 years old.

I didn't get this toy when I bought it, but I ended up buying it based on high reviews and lots of recommendations. After getting it, it sat in the closet for a few weeks until I finally decided to see if my 3-month-old would be interested in it one day. Then I got it. He's fascinated with watching and hearing the wooden balls slide back and forth, he loves putting the knobs in his mouth, and the stiff elastic cord is perfect for his newly grasping hands to grab. Needless to say, it's our favorite toy now.

My baby loved this toy. It’s not the usually rattle you would expect. My toddler also plays with it. You can put various objects in it too (like bottles) to help encourage baby to hold their own bottle. Sometimes the kids get bored of it, but they always end up coming back to play with it. If your wondering, the knobs do not come off

We bought this toy for our 6 month daughter and she absolutely loves it! It has quickly become of her favorite toys to grasp and throw around during tummy time. When hand her the toy, both of her hands reach out for it and she smiles. We appreciate that it makes a gentle rattle sound compared to other toys.
