Description

About the Book

The Sunday Crossword of "The New York Times" has been a beloved fixture since its inception in 1942, but "the Holy Grail" of crossword puzzling has always proved intimidating to those not fortified by years of solving experience.

Book Synopsis

500 puzzles; the biggest collection of Sunday crosswords (the Times' most popular) EVER. Everything about the New York Times Supersized Book of Sunday Crosswords is, well, supersized. At one hour per puzzle (that's pretty fast!), eight hours of solving per day, it would still take two months of solid solving to finish this book.

Major Gowen - 6 months ago, Verified purchaser
This book is as big as a telephone directory of a medium-size city (for those old enough to remember telephone directories). The book spine is flexible enough to allow each page to essentially lay flat. The print and the puzzles are sufficiently large, although some people may find them somewhat on the smallish size. Interestingly, there are different fonts used on some of the puzzles, although these different fonts are in groups, which may indicate that fonts changed when the puzzles originally appeared in the NYT. If you are like me and work on a Sunday NYT crossword puzzle over the course of a few days, this book will keep you busy for several years. Definitely worth the price!
