Description
Sixth-grader Peter (Oakes Fegley) is pretty much your average kid-he likes gaming, hanging with his friends and his beloved pair of Air Jordans. But when his recently widowed grandfather Ed (Robert de Niro) moves in with Peter's family, the boy is forced to give up his most prized possession of all, his bedroom. Unwilling to let such an injustice stand, Peter devises a series of increasingly elaborate pranks to drive out the interloper, but Grandpa Ed won't go without a fight. Soon, the friendly combatants are engaged in an all-out war with side-splitting consequences.

We thought this was a very good movie. Not only was the acting excellent, but it was a very funny, heartwarming family movie. Too many CGI movies out there that are full of fluff, this captures the comedic sense (that was intended) with wonderful directing and acting.

It was a cute and charming film based off a beloved children’s book. If you’re able to accept it for what it’s meant to be (which is a light hearted family film not some stuffy Oscar contender) then you’ll be able to enjoy it a great deal. It’s not going to be on any end of the year lists but it doesn’t need to be in order to be entertaining.

Hilarious movie all the way through! Never a dull moment. Robert De Niro is 5 stars in this movie. Great for the whole family!

Holy macaroni, I never came out of a movie that was that soulless and unfunny in a really long time that I’ve seen in theaters. I found no redeeming quality or value while watching this abomination of a movie based off a children’s book(I think the book would be a million times better), but it has zero hope thanks to its terrible writing with a predictable story, unfunny humor, forgettable characters, dull acting from admirable celebrities, and that even films like Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Playing with Fire, and Sonic the Hedgehog were funnier, stronger, and more heartfelt than this. Honestly, Disney only sacrificed Pixar’s upcoming animated film Soul from even playing in theaters, just for theaters to book this independent film that originally the much disgraced Weinstein Company was going to distribute I really feel bad for Robert De Niro for starring in this godawful movie
