An Instant Bestseller! The New York Times USA Today The Globe and Mail The Toronto Star
What happens behind closed doors never stays hidden for long.
It was supposed to be easy. Thursday would share her husband, Seth, with his other two wives, Monday and Tuesday--two women she's never met and knows nothing about. No questions asked, no hurt feelings. And for a while, the arrangement works...until Thursday finds a scrap of paper with a name--Monday's real name--and an address.
Now Thursday can't stop herself. She wants to know more about this woman: who she is, what she's like...what Seth sees in her that Thursday doesn't have.
She orchestrates a fraudulent friendship with Tuesday to get to the truth, what she really signed up for when she agreed to this marriage. But the more she learns about this other wife--and his mysterious first wife, Tuesday--the more she sees that Seth is not the man she thought he was.
As more disturbing details come to light, it becomes clear that there's a reason why he didn't want the women to meet after all. A very good reason.
One that Thursday never saw coming.

Nail-biting, heart-clenchingly good from the start, with characters that you both root and cringe for. I loved every word. Six stars." -Alessandra Torre, New York Times bestselling author of The Ghostwriter Fisher smoothly inserts moments of self-doubt, longing, paranoia, and triumph into her unsettling narrative as she draws the reader into Thursday's conflicted and increasingly complicated life. Suspense fans will be rewarded.--Publishers Weekly Fisher is a slick writer who keeps a tight rein on her lightning-fast plot, and the lengths that her feisty narrator goes to in order to reclaim her life make for salaciously satisfying reading...Fisher is a writer to watch.--Kirkus An intriguing plot takes some sharp twists in the search for the elusive truth in this fast-reading domestic thriller.--Booklist "Fans of Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl will revel in The Wives...Fisher's story, like the score of a film, builds to an emotional and psychological crescendo that will keep readers on their toes until its final page. --USA Today Fisher draws us in with a topic few of us are familiar with-polygamy. This book was pretty terrible, the ending didn’t fit with the rest of the book, and the caricature of mental illness was not great.

It was ok. I had to sludge through some parts, but I wanted to know the ending, so I finished it. Meh. Overall, I didn’t like the storyline, and it wasn’t a satisfying ending. Characters lacked development, and I didn’t even like the main character by the end. Not for me. Wouldn’t read it again, but wouldn’t discourage others from picking it up - it’s up to you.

I finished this quickly because I wanted it to be over. I love reading, and I usually love these kinds of books but the whole plot just felt frustrating to me. And I’ve definitely read at least 3 books with a plot and ending similar to this, so it didn’t feel new or creative in my opinion. There were interesting plot twists, and it was easy to read so that’s a positive point.
Exciting book

“It’s all too perfect, I think. When things are that perfect, something is wrong.“
Wow. It’s been a long time since I sat down and read a book cover to cover without stopping but once I got on The Wives express, I couldn’t get off. The Wives is told from the voice of Thursday, wife #2. She doesn’t know anything about the other two wives, which makes this polygamy tale very unique. Things aren’t always as they seem and that unfolds very quickly in this fast paced psychological thriller. I thought I had it all figured out and then the floor dropped out from under the rollercoaster I was on. Ms. Fisher delivers a heart pounding, page turner. The writing and twists reminded me of the likes of Gone Girl or Girl on the Train. If you are a fan of psychological thrillers, I highly recommend checking out The Wives! You won’t be disappointed.
