Q: Is this only meant for small dogs? Even the measurements for the "large" on the size chart seem pretty small.

A: Hello, Depending on the size of the dog a Large can general fit a dog that weighs 60-100 lbs. for the Aviator hat.

Runs large. Cute hat but I was really surprised how big it was for an XS. I have 2 mid size dachshund/chihuahuas (chiweenies) from 9-11 lbs and they love their hats. I was very sad that they did not work. An XS would fit like a shitzu dog head but definitely not a chihuahua or small dachshund type. The quality was pretty good though! Hope that helps you! A little pricey.
