Thomas & Friends Diesel Motorized Engine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This train has a solid build and was enjoyed by my 5 and 2 year old both - be aware you need batteries but overall a great toy. Both of my boys have asked to get more trains and are looking forward to building a full set soon!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little train is an easy set up, good to go, fun time. My 4 year old dove right in and even with out any train track accessories, had a blast filling the little open box car with other toys to haul around the house. Battery installation is easy and so far, appears to have a long usage life between battery swaps. This trains has endured hours of play time already with signs of stopping. Overall construction is solid. The on/off switch is intuitive to operate right out of the packaging for my 4 year old. This little train is now in regular rotation on the toy shelf at my house and has been on countless adventures with many more to come.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Fisher-Price® Thomas & Friends™ Diesel Motorized Engine is a fun motorized train engine that comes with a cargo train as well. This new version of the Motorized engines is based off the new cartoon show of Thomas & Friends in which their faces are more "cartoon"-like than before. It looks a little silly, but my son didn't seem to mind too much. He loves the Thomas TrackMaster motorized trains, so he was happy to have an additional one to us on his tracks. We did notice that this new train seemed to be a little bit top-heavy and did not handle the curves of tracks quite as well as the older motorized engines. We still have so much fun playing with this new Diesel train though. My son is obsessed with Thomas & Friends and trains in general, so this was a great addition to our collection and home.

It worked well with our wooden tracks and is compatible with the different brands of tracks we have in our set. My 5 year old already had Thomas so this was a welcome addition. I would not recommend getting this as a standalone toy but a wonderful complement to any toy train set with "standard" wooden tracks. The only vocal complaint my child expressed was that it cannot make it up any of the sloped bridges. Diesel is also significantly slower than the Thomas version which disappointed my child because it didn't make racing the two trains very exciting.

My youngest daughter has had it running almost non stop wether she's playing with it or not haha it ends up getting stuck, but sometimes makes a pretty long trip.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Thomas train toy Came as expected. My nephew was excited to open it and when he finally got it he wouldn't stop playing with it. He is in a train phase right now so this was perfect. The only issue I have with the toy is that it doesn't come with batteries. I know a lot of toys don't come with batteries, but in my experience, my nephew was so excited that he would cry if i didnt just give it to him. even though he enjoys his train without batteries, he loves toys that move and having batteries already in the train would have been perfect for him.

We have owned numerous Thomas and Friends trains and this one, by far, is the biggest train we have. Diesel used to be only black and very angry looking. Now he has purple in his addition to his black and has a more friendlier smiling face. He is much bigger than our older motorized trains and a bit faster too. My boys are big Thomas the Train fans and they really enjoyed playing with this train. They raced it against there other trains and this one won each time. Very happy with this toy and hope it will last like our others.

This one fit on the tracks we already bought and he could click it on and let it run into the other trains that don’t have a motor. This brought him long laughing fits and really entertained him as he acted out episodes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These battery-powered trains are an excellent addition to the trains my son already has. This train, in particular, works with the plastic train tracks, not the wooden tracks. My son owns both types of tracks, so he was able to enjoy playing with the ones he has. He engages with the molded and painted faces on the train. He makes them talk to each other and build communicative skills. Overall an excellent toy and would recommend to other parents for their kids.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Toot, Toot, my granddaughter was overly excited to see this little Thomas & Friends Diesel Motorized train perform as it did. She spent more time with this train than than with her favorite stuffed animal.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a fun toy for 2 days. Unfortunately, the train requires two AAA batteries and there is no indication of this on the packaging. My boys (2 & 4) were jazzed to get this in the mail but the battery situation was disappointing for them. They had to wait until I opened the train and found working batteries. Then my boys did what boys do and drove the poor little guy until the batteries died twice. It is a cool toy and works on the universal sized tracks. It even works off the track on bare floor. It just eats batteries and is small and intricate to take apart in order to swap them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lets start off by saying we are big Thomas the Train fans here. It’s been nice that we have been able to add Diesel to our Thomas collection. I absolutely love the quality of the train. It also runs really well on the ground or on a Thomas the track set. My kids absolutely love playing with the motorized trains as they seem more realistic especially with play. I really like how it came with a little cargo train with it too which can also be taken off if wanted. All around it’s another good quality Thomas toy and we can wait to purchase more characters in the future.

It is a great addition to the Thomas train and track set, which he loves playing with. He instantly showed an interest in Diesel. The train fit the tracks perfectly. Diesel requires 2 AAA batteries. Once you turn Diesel on and put him on the tracks the motor is quiet. The train moves smoothly on the tracks. I would recommend the Thomas and friends Diesel motorized toy train as an addition to any child’s toy train tracks.

This train is a good size and fits on my sons train table tracks nicely. I can always count on fisher price’s quality when it comes to toys. This train travels easily on our hard surface flooring.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ah, Thomas and friends! A classic for sure. I've been watching and playing with Thomas toys since I was a boy and now my littlest one is playing with them. I don't know much about diesel as a character but when my 5 year old sees a new train, WE MUST HAVE. However, before I let him have it i do a little dad testing. Make sure the toy is sturdy, nothing is loose, sharp or outright broken. Although it does feel a bit cheap i can assure you this thing is solid for what it is. The train and train car are sturdy and i trust that it will endure the abuse that its going to take over the next few months. Wheels don't wobble, pin is super secure. I couldn't remove it while trying with just hands. The switch on top works good, no play in the movement. I give it a 8 for build quality. If it didn't feel so cheap it would be a 10. The thing rolls great and works with the train table we have in the play room. Definitely a solid buy if you enjoy this line.

Diesel runs on two AAA size batteries and is easy for a toddler to turn on and off. As soon as you flip the switch, Diesel starts quickly rolling on its own. It will work on any Thomas and Friends track. This will be a perfect starter train for your little one.
