the only reason I gave 3 stars is because it was delivered 4 days late. This was supposed to be a Christmas gift. chain is lovely and great quality but now it sits in my safe waiting to be gifted to someone.

Since I can't edit/delete my initial review, this is my amended review: I was incorrect. This item is great. The plating is definitely white gold. I didn't know that plating can be brighter than solid white gold objects. In addition, this IS made of real sterling silver and it IS a solid rope chain. I misundersood the listing and thought that "white" meant the plain unplated version. With that said, the chain is beautiful and I have decided to keep it as it looks very nice and goes with some of my pendants quite nicely. I wanted to make it clear that I misunderstood the listing and that's on me, not the company that made/sold the item to me via target.com. Thanks!

I just received this item in the mail today. I have quite the collection of real sterling silver jewelry including a rope chain of a different size. This chain is FAR too white in color to pass as genuine sterling silver or white gold or rhodium plated sterling silver. Whatever the white is, it isn't rhodium and it also isn't white gold (I also have white gold items that don't remotely match the color of this chain). This item doesn't remotely match the color of my sterling silver items either. Not even close. This chain is super duper light (way way lighter in weight than my much smaller, real sterling silver rope chain). Whatever this chain is made of, please understand that the price is lower than other sources who are selling real, solid sterling silver chains because the chain being sold here is a)hollow & b)appearance & feel-wise, likely to be made of a material other than sterling silver. I was penny pinching here, and I got royally burned for it. Don't make the same mistake I did. If the price seems too good to be true, that's because it is.
