A: It may be helpful to know that our Tide Ultra Stain Release Free now goes by Tide Ultra Oxi Free, as a name change took place. It's the same product, just under a different name.

Q: Does this product have bleach in it? And is it safe to use on dark colors/blacks?

A: Tide Free Ultra Oxi Liquid Laundry Detergent doesn't contain bleach, and we upgraded its formula in April this year in which Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, also referred to as SLS, was introduced to provide an improved cleaning experience. So you'll get better stain removal, less yellow product off-color, and better product clarity. The new enzyme helps white fabrics appear whiter and color fabrics brighter, including those that are dark or black. I used the Tide Ultra Free from target religiously until it was replaced with this. I read the reviews and noted that some people had reactions and noticed extra suds. It seems like you just have to use much less or do an extra rinse. I usually only use about a tablespoon of detergent per load but I just moved to a new apartment with a new machine and I was was absentmindedly using gobs of detergent. When I started itching I remebered the reviews and I did an extra rinse cycle on everything previously washed and went back to using a tablespoon per load and the itching subsided. 2 stars because the recommended amount causes itching.

This is the best stain removing detergent I have found. We always use the "free and clear" products across different brands, but this Tide with Oxi is the only one that stands out as being noticably different, and it is just superb. I originally bought it to wash small pet bedding, but it is now the go-to laundry detergent for the entire family.

Finally a liquid version of this tide free ultra Oxi! I’ve been waiting…. I love this version of the pods, but don’t always need a whole pod for small loads. This cleans exactly the same and you can customize the amount needed. Maybe eventually they’ll make an even bigger bottle. Highly recommend this detergent. I do not use as much as it says on the back of the bottle- I use probably half the amount it says to for each load! It cleans so well. I pretreat, if needed, with oxiclean stain spray(let it sit for an hour, at least) then use this and perfect. My husband is a mechanic, we have a toddler, horses, farm animals, etc., so you get the point when I say it cleans! I do use oxiclean odor blasters powder and downy beads with some loads, but even alone it cleans perfectly. I do that more for odors and having smell that I can customize because I do not like the scents tide have out now…they’re too strong for me. This is perfect, smells like nothing!

This is Tide's HE Turbo Clean which is supposed to reduce sudsing and yet this is the first time my washer has ever given me the "suds" alert and added extra time automatically just to rinse out the suds.

If any suds are left on your clothes at the end of the wash, scoop out the excess suds and run a rinse cycle with cold water.
