I was caught off guard with this new scent. You know the laundry routine: sort cloths, open Tide reach into barrel.umm something smells different.. what?? Tide?? No way..laundry room with refreshing air, my fur babiés blankets even from the dryer!! This is great.. what made the change?? Been using Tide since 1974… Reordering right now..

The scent in these pods is HORRENDOUS!!!!! My husband likes these, I do not use them but just the smell of his clothes makes me nauseous and give me a migraine headach!! Read about chemicals crossing the blood brain barrier, the nauseous and headaches is caused by chemical reaction. You should be ashamed. I see other reviews where you say the product is safe to use, I beg to differ. ANY PRODUCT THAT CAUSES A PHYSICAL REACTION IS NOT!!! SAFE TO USE! The whole freaking house smell of this chemical toxic mess! WHY do you have to make your products smell so strong?!?!? ABSOLUTELY ridiculous! Just stop already.

I absolutely loved the old scent of the green pods. Even ordered them to Germany because they're not available here. I was SO sad when the scent changed! The blue ones definitely aren't the same.

I have tried so many things to get the cigarette smell out of the clothes of an inside smoker who never opens the window!! I would wash it and think it was clean, put it in the dryer it came out still smelling of cig. Nothing worked !!!! untill tide 4 in 1. I don't know which ingredient is helping but its amazing! It has a sharp sent in it I have never smelled before. And disapates in the dryer! Never going back or changing to a diffrent one. Not even tide oxy odors, this one is the best for body odors; smoke sweat drewl ect!

First of all these pods clean my clothes just fine. But I just can’t get past the awful smell. Like other reviewers I bought this again because I was so satisfied with my first round of this detergent. This new batch with the unimproved scent is terrible. I accused my wife of swapping detergent and thought it was some heavily scented junk soap. Not the high end Tide it’s supposed to be. The tide scent is iconic and refined. This smells like dollar store detergent. Please change it.

I inherited a loyalty to the Tide brand because I was always taught that it was the best. When I did other Tide Oxi pods, I couldn't believe that they nailed convenience, scent, and quality in a single product. No other brand could compete with this perfection. Recently, Tide decided to sneak in a change that would negatively impact all of its customers AFTER they'd purchased their usual products. They introduced a new horrible scent that causes headaches from the moment the package is opened to the laundry folding process (I had to walk away three times while folding laundry because the scent was that horribly strong). The worst part is that they no longer offer any products with pleasant scents. They're all very strong and very bad. Now, for the first time in 44 years, I will have to find a new laundry detergent brand. It looks like Tide has lost a lot of loyal customers because of this poor, clearly unresearched decision.

The new scent is not pleasant to me. I wish that you would place a sticker or something on the package to notify people that something has been changed. I will be returning this and will not be buying this again.

I completely agree with all who have voiced their unsatisfaction of the scent change. I get migraines and then new scent does not help! The new scent smells cheap. I will also be looking for a new detergent. I would like the original scent to return to the tide ultra OXI tide pods.

Unwelcomed Ultra Oxi 4in1 Pods Scent Change

I recently bought 3 cans of (82 ) count containers of Ultra Oxi 4 in 1 Pods to replace my stock from about 8 months ago. I used the last two pods from my old stock on a load of whites and then opened the new canister yesterday and noticed a strong perfume scent right away, but did not think a great deal about it and went on with the wash of a large load of colors in warm/hot water. After drying the clothes the room was filled with a strange medium perfume-like scent and even after using the 30 min. soak and double rinse/double spin the finished clothes have a heavy and "cheap" perfume like scent that I do not care for. I checked the packaging from the old product supply I had just depleted earlier and compared it to the new packaging and there was no difference in labeling to indicate a change in scent, etc. Upon wearing a shirt for about a half hour I have a skin irritating rash on both elbows and my upper abdomen and removed the shirt because I cannot stand the odor. I have done my own laundry since my college days and I have always been a fan of regular Tide Liquid or Powder. I always appreciated two things about that Tide product - it was effective at cleaning my clothes and it had what I describe as a very mild "clean and fresh" scent that was only truly detectible when brought to one's face and usually faded away over the course of a few days. This was my go-to, and I am really disappointed in the scent change. I not only dislike the smell, but it’s also overpowering. I’m hopeful that I can return them, because I can’t imagine having yo use up the whole container. Hugely disappointing. Please change the scent back.

I quit using original Tide liquid because the scent was changed and it smelled like vomit. I was happy to find the Tide 4 in 1 pods with Oxi because it finally smelled nice again and then you go and change THAT. WHY?!?! Are you TRYING to get people to quit using your product?? You clearly do not know what your consumers want. Nor do you realize the importance of preserving your brand.

I bought Tide pods ultra oxi free because I went to 3 stores and none of them carried the liquid that I usually buy. It turns out I can’t get the lid off without help because I’m a small person and have severe arthritis in my fingers and the lid is too wide. There aren’t any children anywhere near my home so safety isn’t an issue. I have a 4-month supply and will only be able to do my laundry when there is someone in the house who can open it for me.
