A: Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. Since 2016, we have been using egg yolks and natural plant-based gums (tara gum and guar gum as you said) to stabilize our ice cream base.

Q: Is the container supposed to come sealed or with a plastic ring/wrapper around the lid?? Or is it just open (like how I received it)?

Historically, it has been a plastic ring around the lid, but due to some new equipment and production capacity that we’ve added, some containers will now have a foil seal underneath the lid. If your container had neither, that would definitely be a cause of concern! I love Tillamook and their products and vanilla is one of my favorite flavors but the old fashion vanilla is a major disappointment.
